As an alien overlord, you must naturally go head to head with the most horrible foe of all time - the Player. If you're going to keep him at bay, you'll have to command your ships to work together smoothly. Collect trophies, earn new models, and unlock two new game modes. How long can your fleet survive? ![]() Game is now on yoyo (link) Note that the game can now only be downloaded by going to yoyo and downloading it from there. As I released inevitable small updates it began to become a nuisance to modify the links in every thread in every forum I posted this game on. You'll also find any update information there. I'll post it here in a reply too, if it won't require an illegal bump. Online highscore list
All comments/criticism welcome, as always. This game is currently considered finished, but I am still accepting suggestions for changes, and bug reports, should any arise. Thanks for your support! This post has been edited by gmXpert2000: Oct 4 2008, 09:26 PM |

Well made but very very hard. Why thank ya sir. About it being hard, did you happen to try a different difficulty level, or was it too hard even then? Glad to see it done. I enjoy it very much. -PF Thanks Dan. Glad you liked it Excellent use of Mark's "original game" tips. Hehe, you noticed eh? Yeah, that was where the idea first sparked, but I did have to develop it from there. Okay, I've uploaded a new version with a few changes. Nothing is changed relateve to save files, or the actual game itself, so your stats are compatible with both versions; I just fixed some little things like forgotten text, an incorrectly set variable, etc. So re-download it if you want, or just keep the version you have. I also added another mirror at WHFF. |

Yet another small update, fixed some more aesthetic stuff, and put the button to submit to the online highscore table right there when you finish a game. Again, no serious incompatibilities. Just more polished. |

Hm... Buying new ships isn't working. I click on the icon and then the empty space, but nothing happens.

It's told in the in-game the tutorial, but I guess I should have written it into the main help page as well. Looks like time for another update...=p Thanks for letting me know. |

This game is awesome! I sat playing for almost an hour. It's hard, but not hard enough to make me not want to play. Very original idea. You should have the music from galaga backwards.

Heh, it's a good fun game, but you forgot to credit open office.org (by sun micro systems) for using thier' sounds in your game! ;P
(The sound when you select different ships, if i remember correctly is named "INTER_BEGIN.WAV") This post has been edited by RamboFox: Aug 22 2008, 02:55 AM |

I had no idea. I went on findsounds.com and searched. Anyhoo thanks for trying it out. Small update folks, a bug with the trophies. In fact I think this was the cause of the blank screen error some people were getting with V4. Also, the game is now only on yoyo. It is set to play now and download, so don't worry. You can still get it normally. It's just easier for me to use that as the central hub, rather than having to go around to every forum this is posted on changing the links. |

Those who read my magazine or my posts here and elsewhere know by now that there's nothing I love more than to give in-depth explanations of my likes, dislikes, et cetera-- that it's common for me to expend several paragraphs on even the smallest of games. I feel that by going into the depth I do, I am being helpful to the designer and the potential player. I'm afraid that in this instance, however, I will not be of any help, for I am unable to meaningfully articulate my thoughts and feelings; those that are familiar with me and my tendencies will understand the significance of the fact that, when confronted with this game, I am only able to muster up one woefully inadequate word:

I'm having trouble unlocking two of the trophies-- the "kill the player 20 times in a single game" and the "get four kills without buying any new ships". The trouble is, I've done that (on normal mode; I already know that easy doesn't unlock any trophies), and the trophies have not unlocked. :-|
Do I have to go through twenty quarters-- that is, sixty kills-- and four-- that is, twelve-- respectively? Still a great game, and, having spent considerable time with it, I am able to now say why. But, as for that, you'll have to wait until next month... |

Sorry for the late reply. College, and stuff XD
Anyways, your problem is pretty strange...I've talked to some people who have unlocked Extreme mode, which means they got all the trophies. Are you sure you killed the player 20 times/4 times without buying a ship (that means without right-clicking on a grid spot to actually buy a new ship, not just getting a new stock item, in case it was a misunderstanding)? All I can suggest is to make sure you're playing the latest version of the game...though I haven't fixed any bug specifically related to those trophies. Other than that, I will test the game myself tomorrow and PM you with what I find. This post has been edited by gmXpert2000: Sep 24 2008, 05:06 AM |

Version 7 was posted. =D
Updates: -No more quicksave bug -No more muted music error -Problem with kills incrementation is fixed (it was leading to some trophy problems) -An import feature since the save files are incompatible. This will allow you to keep your previous achievements. This import feature, I think, deserves a bit of explanation. Because the save files are incompatible, you must update to version 7 or you won't be able to submit online anymore. However, you don't want to lose your achievements, so I made the import feature. Just copy your save file out of the /my documents/yoyogames/49533/ folder, THEN update, and simply click the "import old" button on the campaign select menu and find your file. It will be automatically converted to the new format and you will keep everything but your max score (which will show up, but red, which means you can't click 'submit best' from the options menu until you beat your old max score.) |

Congrats on the honorable mention. I was hoping this would win.
I'm still horrible at this game, but I enjoy it just the same. (I'm also a poet and I didn't even know it.) -PF |
