@FredFredrickson - Is the look of the GUI so important? Is it not functionality and end product over image?
Obviously, the functionality of the end product is king, but you have to look at it from a buyer's perspective. Someone who is looking for a program like yours is going to view screenshots, and make a decision right there - they either download and try it out or not. If the program looks like it was just thrown together (no matter the functionality), people aren't going to bother.
I think the idea you have here is good, and that with a little work on the GUI (and maybe a price drop to $9.99 or even $4.99), you really could sell the program.
Thanks to the insane replies I got within the first 24 hours of releasing this ... which I've been working with off and on for around 2 years now ... I'm going to have this topic closed, and C-M will never be available to the GMC. Sorry about the GUI, but I am seriously offended with some of your replies.
I hope that you don't think my comments rude - I'm just being honest and trying to help. I don't think you should close your topic too quickly here either. Wait for more responses. Even if you have to sort through a bunch of garbage, you might find some good advice for improvements here and there. You're the only one who suffers from the topic closing, after all - everyone else just moves on to the next thing.
And don't forget to take people's comments (including mine) at the GMC with a (big) grain of salt. I'm not saying that anyone above fits this description, but there are a lot of people here who love to bash games that go for sale, and a good deal of immature / jealous people as well. It builds some good character to just deal with their comments and take it in stride.
