G-Beep Dll

Created In: Visual Basic 6
Created For: Game Maker
Download: RSUpload Hosted

With this Dll, you can make your system beep at most frequencies. If you turn your volume down all the way, the system should still beep, as volume doesn't effect it. I am not responsible for how you use this Dll, or what it does to you, your system, or anything/anyone else. I know that there is at least one other of these on the GMC, but it was made a while ago.

I have tested this in Game Maker 7, and it works basically flawlessly. The Dll was made in Visual Basic and should work on all 32 bit Windows systems that support VB programs (should be almost all Windows operating systems).

Just as a little note, if you make a beep at the frequency of 17000, you are making a Mosquito Noise, which is basically a noise that most adults can not here, but most kids and dogs can, but it might hurt your ears, I don't know. If this will hurt your ears, take out the code for it in the create event of the only object in the example before testing the example...which also plays Iron Man in beeps, woot!

Yay, another VB6 DLL. I like the Iron Man thing, someone should finish it...Having a high frequency is just the same as other ones but high pitched...it shouldn't really hurt anyone but people with sensitive ears. Be careful.

Since it isn't threaded, I don't see any purpose to using it.

There probably isn't a specific frequency to over heat the alarm, but you probably could just play a really long beep for a few hours...lol.

ok this is strange:

beepMessage(jim)
and this in the create script already there:
jim=0
and it goes weird after playing ironman

I'm fairly sure its my hardware. This doesn't work at all for me. Not to mention the threading issue, means that it looks like the game is just frozen (Because I can't hear anything).

Well, I decided to convert a song chart I found on the internet over so it was GM compatible, and here it be:
There isn't much use for this song, but I decided to upload it anyways, because I thought it sounded cool.
Here it be!
I think this dll is "da bomb yo", and I am actively adding it to a computer alarm I made! Good work!

The beeps made by this are not sent to your speakers. Either VMWare doesn't care about them, or can't emulate then on Macs.

I wouldn't be surprised if Macs just don't have the hardware that PCs do to to make the beeps, because yeah, it isn't via the speakers. This should work on a normal computer whether or not there are speaker for it.

Also, I know that it isn't threaded, and I am considering making another version of this with it being threaded...in C++ or something...we'll see.

I was making a guitar hero with this as the sounds. It worked great for the iron man. Now how do I get other things on there?? :P Back to work with me.

EDIT: I googled frequencies and I got all of them for musical notes! My dream may (crush me under the load of work) be achieved afterall!
EDIT2: Nooo! My dreams are shattered again! I can't seem to find any music anywhere that comes in this form ( http://www.phy.mtu.e.../notefreqs.html ) and has a tempo aswell.

Curse my inability to read sheet music!
