Final Fantasy VIII - Epic, great story line, good graphics, some great cut scene moments.
Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess - Its zelda, and IMO better then OOT, since it has better gameplay, graphics and sound.

Good god its impossible to decide anything else really since it seems like a big mess...it would probably be a Zelda, Mario, Metroid, Final Fantasy and possibly some other games.

1) Final Fantasy 7 - Rocks any RPG ever created.. Storyline was sooo good.. I actually got depressed when Arie died.. i think that was her name.. The story just captured you into the game. It has been the only game that has ever done that
to me. It was amazing.. thats all i gotta say :]]

2) STALKER - Awsome FPS. Had its own creepy feeling. It really gave you the mood of survival. Not just one of those ill run out in the middle of nowhere and blast everything and if I die its ok. This really made you fight and not want to ever die. Story was good. Lots of action. Lots of free exploration. Lots of creepy and scary places. It kinda mixed all my favorite genres :]]

3) Call of Duty 4 - Action, Graphics, Great multiplayer. Just a lil short. What else can I say. Even had a good story :]]

4) Bioshock - Great game. Good story. Makes you play till the end. But sadly I didnt want to replay it again. Lol.

5) All Metal Gear Solid Games - All are just amazing. I have never not finished one and I cant wait to play the new one

I'm going to go for some of the classics, and a few of the new ones:

Abe's Exoddus: Could have suggested the first game in the series, but the sequel was even better. Fun, bloody difficult and unique gameplay no other game has replicated successfully.

Silent Hill: Considering the graphics of the PS1, this has to be the creepiest game ever; the game uses sound and tension like no other to create an absolutely unnerving experience, unlike the Resident Evils which relied on horror too much.

Dead Rising: Sure, it had its flaws, but this is one of the most original gaming experiences I've had in ages.

Burnout Revenge: The best racing game of all time, full stop. None of the namby pamby racing experience of games like Forza, but some good old fashioned twisted steel clashes. Breathtaking graphics too.

Black & White: A simulation game like no other. Graphically superb, conceptually magnificent, to say that B&W is the most epic of games is still an understatement.

10. Ridge Racer
9. Mafia - The City of Lost Heaven
8. Age of Empires - The Age of Kings
7. Wipeout
6.Sonic The Hedgehog (The Megadrive ones)

5. Empire Earth (1 and 2, but not 3.)
No other game has you start out with three guys and a campfire, and then apply war tactics and economy - progressing right through history from the Ancient tribes, to early civilization, to the Copper, Bronze, Iron, Dark, Middle, Gunpowder, Imperial, Enlightenment, Industrial, Modern, Atomic and Digital ages. And then....turn into a Sci-Fi RTS and continue way on into the future with deadly laser wielding robots. This game has stolen several months of my life in it's sheer replayability and variety.

4. Operation Flashpoint + Resistance
The Czechs can really make good games, as demonstrated by this excellent FPS. Intense gameplay, addictive, open ended and a winning scenario editor. Only let down by weak physics. The sequel, Armed Assault was good, but didn't kick as much arse as it could of.
Update: ArmA 2 is much better than Armed Assault! I highly recommend!

3. Outrun + Outrunners
Baring in mind that graphics and gameplay in the mid 1980s where pretty sparse, this Sega legend was a decade ahead of its time in terms of format and graphics. Seriously, Outrunners (1992) has better looking graphics than any Playstation game. The sense of speed is fantastic, and it's difficult to master but never frustrating (unless you are inserting your money for the arcade version!)

2. Max Payne (1 and 2)
Almost Flawless as a shooter. Stunning ahead-of-its time graphics, humour, blissful gameplay, great sounds, cool characters.... I could go on! The game is short, yes, but the levels and story are so intricate that you'll want to play through each game at least 3 times. Plus there is a mission builder pack so you can create and play custom content!

1. Grand Theft Auto (GTA, GTA London 1969, 1961, GTA2, GTAIII, GTA:VC, GTA:SA, GTA: ADVANCE, GTA:LCS, GTA:VCS, GTAIV....)
Because without GTA, the video game industry would be hollow, humourless and probably a little dead.
A true story of rags to the riches, the original DMA team who made the 1997 GTA game were about as major as most users of Game Maker! Today, it's 11th installment is acheiving perfect reviews across the boards - and for good reasons. It has everything. Driving, Shooting, A Kick Arse Soundtrack (SF:UR and MSX FM for the win! As well as Electrochoc!), Awesome characters and dialougue, winning humour satiring everything (most notably the evil ways of America!) You can also chainsaw prostitutes limbs off, after you've used their services, so you can steal back the money you paid them - What more could you want in a game?!

5: Halo 3, The multilayer can keep you entrained for the rest of your life, but who wants to do that?
4: Bioshock, The water is amazing, the scariness, the graphics blew me away and you actually got angry at Andrew Ryan!
3: Burnout Takedown: It is the mot intense game I've had, how racing should be!
2: Gears of War, chainsaw, body bits, blood, and of course, head shots!
1: TimeSplitters: Future Perfect! It kept me and my friends entertained for HOURS on end... If only the Xbox 360 lets it work... :D

UPDATED LIST: As of 5/12/09
5. Bioshock, since 29/6/08, I have played it through another 3 times, but lost intrest so I traded it in to help fund my Modern Warfare 2 cash-pile. Still amazing game, and some bits still scare the ba-jeeb-ers out of me.
4. Gears of War 2, yep, moved on since Gears of War 1 and boy does number 2 look good! Story was well done and leaves it wide open for the 3rd! But the only thing wrong with it is the matchmaking. Pressed A to start searching, go to the kitchen, put in some toast, grab the peanut butter, go back to Xbox... Searching for team-mates... back to kitchen, toast pops out, smother it in peanut butter, eat it, check on xbox... Searching for team-mates... Turns off xbox. Though the chainsaws, headshots, flamethrowers and co-op horde kept me entertained, if only they had 4-player co-op...
3. Burnout Paradise, yes, it has taken over Takedown, even though Takedown did have its pro's over Paradise (Crash events, better looking boost, signature takedowns), Paradise just beats it (Open world, Free-roam online, better graphics, more cars and of course barrel rolls). Though, like Bioshock, the game was converted for store credit to help towards me buying MW2
2. Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, even though I have MW2, the first one actually beats it. Though MW2 is better overall, somehow, I knew I had more fun with MW1, probably because it was my first, realistic FPS (Yeah, thats right, no Halo :P) and I had spent so much time with the multiplayer... Well, so much for ME (4 days). if you look on the high-scores theres 80+ days. I thought 4 was bad!
1. TimeSplitters: Future Perfect, still number one, even though the last time I've played it since 29/6/08 was at somones party. But boy did it bring back the memories! And such good memories too! Making the old favourite maps and playing virus. Makes me sad that Microsoft still haven't added it to the compatible list.

How things change, and how things don't! :(

Here are my games.. My
Top 5 (of all time) games..

1. Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.
2. Legend of Zelda: the Wind Waker.
3. Megaman Legends 1 & 2.
4. Doom (1993 Original).
5. Sim City 4.

Wow, Nintendo made it up there TWICE..
I just love the LoZ series, but these are my
favourites.

The Megaman Legends series really does
have a great twist of: Sci Fi, Shooting/Action,
and Anime..

The original Doom is my favourite of the Doom
series, (1, 2, and 3) and it's really a great game
if you put some time into it.

Sim City 4.
Outstanding.
Endless Possibilities.

1=Settlers 3 and 4 (There just fabulous games even tho sometimes the take awhile to start up)
2=Legend Of Zelda Ocarina of time(A legendary game one of the few games to get 10/10 on game spot)

Wow I thought I was the only one who liked the Settlers games. Also you mentioned OoT so your opinion actually matters.

5. Spellforce 1 + addons - Nice RTS/RPG, I have played over and over again and never become bored, altought it is a RTS and has some bugs. It makes you feel you want more of it... but Spellforce 2 is not the same....

4. Dizzy series - the old egg for the Z80 (for those who remember the old Z80 games) - very nice and challenging adventure games, and with cute graphics for the Z80.

3. Diablo 2 + Lord of Destruction - problably the greatest action RPG of all time - it makes you want to play it again and again, especially in multiplayer.

2. Command and Conquer : Red Alert 2 + Yuri's Revenge - problaly the best RTS I have played (in my oppinion better than Starcraft, but who knows how Starcraft 2 will be)

1. Elder Scrolls 4 : Oblivion + addons - very good graphics, gameplay, sound, about everything is almoust perfect in this game. It makes you feel you are living in the game world, because you can do whatever you want, be everything you want, explore lots of towns, castles, dungeons and even the Hell itself ;)

Hard to make an order of them but anyways:

-Unreal tournament GOTY-edition, just is always fun to go fragging with a few friends..
-Warcraft 3, I really like a story and when combining it with my favourite game genre (RTS's) it's to be in the top ;)
-Shogun totalwar. - It's a great "simulation" making it a very stratigic game (even more than it's better looking brother rome total war).
-DOOM: this is a classical, I have to say I can't remember much anymore about it: but I used to play it a lot!
-Mario kart, "fun" - That's the best word to describe the game: it's very fun racing against other people there! (much more than for example need for speed).

5 - Ratchet and Clank series - Plenty to do without getting boring

4 - TES IV: Oblivion - High graphics, freestyle gameplay, ability to use addons.

3 - Zelda series - It's Zelda. No further explaination needed.

2 - Starcraft - Blizzard makes good games. Excellent strategy game.

1 - Warcraft III - Same as Starcraft, but with a very free ability to create your own style of games with the world editor.

5. "Fate." Generic RPG. REALLY easy to hack though, so I had fun critting 3 billion when normal crits are 3.
4. Protoganda: Difficult gameplay, but great learning curve. Although Kusnetsov seems misplaced.
3. World of Warcraft: Great multiplayer, and has the best bossfights ever.
2. Warcraft 3: Fun gameplay and great customization possibilities(for those who don't play, you can actually change every aspect of the game in the "Map Editor.").
Ready for number 1? Scroll down!

Some people think that making games takes zero disposition,
But they are wrong, as you will find, It's quite a challenging mission.
To make a game takes weeks and weeks, unless if it is bad,
glitchy, unappealing, with no fun to be had.
When working with Game Maker, Always persevere.
If you neglect to do so, You won't last long round here.
Don't throw in the towel, Even while resolve grows thinner,
And if you work just hard enough,
Your game will be a winner.

5. Mario Kart: Double Dash Having 2 characters in one cart is awesome and the GFX are brilliant, and the new tracks are the greatest.

4. Eledees shooting bugs and throwing microwaves couldn't be better, and the fact that you can throw buildings is hilerious.

3. Mount And Blade great GFX and the fact that you can use a pickaxe as a weapon is rly funny

2. Age of Empires II: Age Of The Kings the best RTS ever made, and the fact you get camels that throw knives is cool, and having people that blow themselves up :)

1. The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Great GFX, great gameplay, i love being a thief coz they are rly cool 11/10

Mario series
Mario Kart series

 nice choices.

5. Starcraft
Absolutely brilliant RTS, i just love every bit about it, in fact, the most brilliant RTS save for one, and that is

4. Age of Empires 2: The Conquerors Expansion
Age of Empires 3 is fun, and its graphics stunning, but Aoe2 jut has a classic feel to it, and it has endless playability.

3. Guitar Hero 2
Harmonix did this absolutely brilliantly, but the amount of flaws and bits in GH3 made this one my favourite instead. It's a pity they couldn't make GH3. (This would probably be Rock Band but it hasn't come out in Australia yet.)

2. The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion
One of the best RPGs out there at the moment, love the graphics, love the conversations, love every bit about it. It would be number 1 but it goes down to number 2 because in my opinion, it's not replayable.

1. A tie between my 2 favourite games: Call of Duty 4 and Fable: The Lost Chapters
Call of Duty 4 is shooting at it's best, the multiplayer online is so fantastic i can't even begin to describe it. Fable is endlessly replayable and so much fun, i've had it for some 3 or 4 years and I still play it.

5. Starcraft
- I'm no RTS lover, but this game has definitely earned it's place on the top 5.

4. Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare
- A good all around game. It has something for any fps player.

3. Halo Series
- A game that started small, turned into one of the most popular multiplayer games over all time. I'm not particularly interested in this series, but it deserves to call itself number 3.

2. Diablo II & expansion
- I truly do not like this game(although I did for a little while). It's demonic and disgusting. Even so, it's provided one of the most long lasting and replay-able RPG experiences I have ever seen. If not the most. It has a good online mode, I haven't ever gotten into it. With how long this game has stayed popular, it rightfully deserves number 2.

1. World of Warcraft & all expansions
- With over 8 million players worldwide, and an almost endless array of possibilities and frequent expansion packages this game has the given right to be number 1. Offering up to thousands of endlessly new game play experiences this game will never be exhausted of it's thrill to it's players. I truly don't like this game, but compared to what millions of other players have to say. I can't argue. The game is truly amazing with it's online status. I can see this game long outlasting Diablo III and Starcraft II. But hey, you never know.

It may seem biased because i'm a huge Zelda fan, but here it goes...

5- Super Mario 64:
- The unique and first-of-its-kind camera angles made this game truly innovative. Also the expansive worlds and diverse enemies were clever.

4- Perfect Dark:
- As a take-off of Goldeneye, Perfect Dark mastered what we consider an FPS today. A multitude of weapons and a deep and enduldgent storyline, which are rare in msot FPS's today, made this game a sure hit.

3- Grand Theft Auto: Vice City
- If you want a game that you can't put down, Vice City is for you. This game was edgy, but stuck to some good basics, as well as developed a weaving and intraquite storyline that kept you wondering "What next?" This game is one of those games that you can continue to play, years after you've beaten it.

2- The Madden Football Franchise
- I understand it's not A game, but it really is. Always ten steps ahead of any other football franchice, Madden has been the first to deliver such huge options as Franchise Mode, Owners Mode, Season Mode, Create-a-Player, Create-a-Team, Intuitive Controls, Realistic Visuals, and of course, the excellent commentary of John Madden himself.

1- The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
- An absolute perfect gem of a videogame. This game set the standard for 3D RPG's and was just so expansive in every aspect. Unique and cool weapons and gadgets, amazing side-quests and minigames, and stellar graphics, for it's time of course. But most of all was that absolute best storyline of any videogame ever. Every character, big or small, that you met in that game was involved in the grand scheme of the game in one way or another. The several stories that occurred purpetually were all woven together so perfectly as to create a diverse, endulgent, and truly epic gaming environment. Anyone who loves games will love 1998's game of the year, and 1900's game of the century.

5 - Halo: Combat Evolved
Because of the "wow" effect it had back in the day, when it was by far best shooter on consoles (maybe even in general). Liked the environments, enemies, graphics, music and brilliant multiplayer (well, it could have more maps for gods sake, but it's okay).
4 - Soul Calibur II
Fighting game that I played the most. I had stunning visuals and fighter models as well as fighting engine. And it had Mitsurugi! I played a lot of it and that's why I stayed in my memory so well.
3 - Wolfenstein 3D
"Einer kleiner Amerikaner!" E3F9
2 - Quake 2
Tank Commander, BFG, Big Gun mission, soundtrack, awesome graphics in 3D hardware and jail complex levels. Pure brilliance of it's time.
1 - Warcraft III: Reign Of Chaos/The Frozen Throne
Graphics, gameplay, DoTa and STORY. And Illidan Stormrage, my favorite character ever. Not to mention best intro line ever:

Betrayer... In truth it was I who was betrayed. Still I am hunted, still I am hated, now my blind eyes see what others cannot. That sometimes, the Hand Of Fate must be forced!

- The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, a game that I spent alot of time on and beat thoroughly and had good music.
- Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island, great music, and was a good platformer
- Conker's Bad Fur Day, Hard but none the less, amazing.
- Mario Kart Series- A Good series, and the newest concepts in the series just make it better
- Star Fox 64- Another game I beat thoroughly, I beat one route to andross but never beat the alternate routes.
I did not add any NES games to the list however, because I think they were all good. But the Nintendo 64 revolutionized many games. Including adding 64 at the end of every game.

5-Warcraft 3
This game is fun when you are playing online. I love the tower defense games!
4-God of War
Fun hack and slash game. Good graphics. Just cool!
3-Resistance
This game is amazing. I dont really know why. The story line is amazing and the graphics are good aswell. There are also really creative guns and i love playing the co-op mode with my friends. I also love the innovative sniper (slow down time).
2-Ratchet and Clank
So fun! Great graphics and tons of different weapons and upgrades. Its cool how it is like co-op based to. They usually have great story lines (Favorite is Future Tools of Destruction)
1-Burnout Paradise
Amazing graphics, addicting gameplay, perfect physics. It has everything a racing game should have!

Oh, I also love to play RockBand once and a while -_-

5:Pikmin (GC) --- for being original, and having such beautiful graphics. Points lost for minimal replay value, though.
4:Shadow of the Colossus (PS2) --- boss battles have always been a favourite part of gaming for me, so a game centred on that
always captures my interest. Add the breathtaking scale, the lovely design of the landscape, and the added
depth from time trials/difficulty settings and that gives you the reason why this be number 4.
3:Zelda: Link to the Past (SNES) ---
i played this before ever playing either of the first two zeldas. It was the first game of its kind
i ever played, and it just blew me away. It seemed so huge to me, it kept me going for months. And it is one of
the very few games i've ever played in which i've bothered to find every last thing in the game. (If you're
wondering, Mario64 and Yoshi's Island are the other two).
2:Command & Conquer: Red Alert (PSX) --- i've not played all the C&C games, but this was the peak of them for me. I just lost
interest after Red Alert. I had to include this because of its almost endless replay value. And the fact that it
never, ever seems to get tired - even the campaign mode is replayable time and again (though thank god for
skirmish mode).
1:Lylat Wars (N64) --- the game which i feel has come closest to perfection. I absolutely loved Lylat Wars, and it was the sole
reason for me buying an N64 (if that seems excessive, i got a second-hand one for £25). At the time, the
graphics were stupendous and i remember marvelling with friends about the amount of and the clarity of the
speech in the game. But really, its just because its so darn fun to play, and is without question the single most
replayable game i've ever owned. I also loved the fact that there were different, harder routes to choose from,
and i remember how much i strived to get all the medals - and the joy when i unlocked Expert mode (which i
didn't even know existed until that point.)
None of the levels were too short or too long, the boss fights were incredible and i was gutted when i rushed out to buy Star Fox Assault on the GC and found out it pales in comparison.

Just a note before I start my list - I don't believe there's an anything "of all time." Change is inevitable.

5.Super Mario World - The very first game I ever remember playing. Although now I realize that it's actually pretty short and not all that challenging, it took plenty of time for my brother and I to get to the Vanilla Dome when we were 2-4. Good times.

4.Donkey Kong 64 - The very first 3D game I played, and the first I actually was able to finish most of the way through (my bro had to go through that last, timed level for me). I loved the atmosphere, the music, the open-endedness, just about everything. Wish I still had it.

3.GTA: San Andreas - While I'd played GTA games before, I was actually able to finish this one. I also loved the more out-doorsy areas that made for much more fun police chases and off-roading. Overall I liked causing mayhem, whether it was crashing planes after jumping out of them, or stealing a tank and running down everyone with it. Also the last game my brother and I played together before he decided he was too good for them.

2.Super Mario Galaxy - Absolutely perfect aside from the depth in each particular level, I'd say.

1.LoZ: The Wind Waker - While it may not be quite as perfect as #2, this game matters more in that it could have caused a major turning point in my life. It might be rediculous to say so, but after finishing it, I never looked at the world in quite the same way, or at least not other people.

5. Final Fantasy 7: the best storyline in any game. ever.

4. Civilization series(I can't believe nobody said this): the "just one more turn" mentality has, on countless occasions, turned into a few extra hours. No other game series can do that.

3. Rollercoaster Tycoon(the original): ok graphics, annoying sounds, but they nailed the most important aspect of gaming: fun.

2. Age of Empires 2: this game got everything right. Graphics, sound, depth, balance, historical accuracy, etc.

1. Metal Gear Solid series: this series got everything PERFECT. Story, graphics, sound, gameplay... Each new title is better than the last, no game series consistantly raises the bar like Metal Gear Solid.

5 - Kingdom Hearts
Only one of two RPGs that I've ever played through all the way and finished 100% (yes, including the battle with Sephiroth) Very unlikely mix of Disney and Square Enix but worked beautifully.

4 - The Sims
The Sims was revolutionary, and probably the most popular simulation game of all time. I used to spend hours upon hours with my families. The time flew by when I was playing The Sims.

3 - Super Smash Bros. Mele
Had the game for eight years, still not tired of it. Always a fun game to play with friends.

2 - Final Fantasy 7
The second of the two RPGs that I played until the end and unlocked everything I could. Amazing storyline, memorable characters, (for its day) groundbreaking graphics and CGI sequences and one of the most badass villains ever.

1 - Toejam and Earl
Okay, some of you probably hate me now. But this was the first video game I ever played. My sister and I played it when we were five and seven up until we were both ten and twelve and our Sega Genesis finally kicked the bucket. I still own the game and I've pondered time and time again whether I should buy another Genesis just to play it. Provided hours of entertainment and was actually very challenging.
