On Top DLL

Use this DLL to force the window to be the topmost window.

What's wrong with just checking the "Let the game window always be on top" in the game settings?

if it's like another one I saw of these, it put's it in front of everything. checking the 'always on top' in game settings put it on top of windows, the dll puts it on top of absolutely every possible detail...I think.
which, after testing, works, with an exception. for years now I've wanted to be able to run a program overtop of my counter strike game. this dll doesn't put the window overtop of my fullscreen game, but I can still interact with it. I can click on the area where I know the window is at and it'll switch me to it, but it reverts my resolution back and minimizes counter strike.

I was wondering if you'd be able to look into how steam works. steam has a program called GameOverlayUI.exe
it lets you hit some keys and it brings up an overlay to interact with. now, this overlay is it's own program, it really has nothing to do with counter strike except to overlap and disable activity with it while the overlay is visible.
also, you'll find out that no, the overlay does not change your resolution and minimize counter strike when you click on it. I even tried making gm continue to change the game's resolution to the current resolution, so when the resolution is in the counter strike one, the game should be like that too and it wouldn't change back to normal and minimize, but it didn't work.

any info on solving this will be greatly appreciated.

This is something that antivirus programs use for notifications or a download manager like FlashGet, for the download window.
It does set the game window over everything else.

There is already a dll (extension package now) that can do this and a lot more but for people who just want the one simple thing then I guess this is for you. Good work anyways :( .

window_set_stayontop() cannot do that.

well I have known a user who made a web browser with game maker and only needs to add a minimize feature to it so I guess this could be rather handy.

Assuming I helped you out in a questions and answers topic won't you return the favour by helping me with one my coding problems, or recommend some one who can chat to me over pms about helping and how to overcome my obstacles, after all lets just say I did help you or them or many people with similar problems, in that topic.

Here i have a topic for those of you struggling with type writer text and mugshots in your games especially if it is a rpg see the link below for more info

window_set_visible(false)?
Btw, they used a DLL.

Even the Task Manager?

That would be cool.

Not really. Viruses! Well, will this keep the window on top, even with a get_string()?
I'll try...
