A nice and unique minigame. It's fun to play a few times, but didn't really hold my interest. Definitely worth a play or two, though.
But you know how I feel about default message boxes, especially ones that have the default look. Nothing serious, but it's the only thing I can think of that I would like to see changed.
It's pretty solid for what it is, but simple nonetheless.
I started on this game around when I started on Karoshi 1 and just finished it. So yeah, I was too lazy to make my own message boxes, sorry. I know how they are annoying, kinda ironic.
What a lovely little SHMUP! For the most part, the gameplay was quite fun and intuitive, and the music was quite good. There are just two things I would improve:
- The bomb causes some serious slowdown issues, at least for my computer. You could probably cut down on some of the effects.
- The slow rotation of the shots were a neat idea, but I think it could be improved by allowing the player to adjust the rotation speed. If the player 'whips' the mouse around the ship very quickly, the rotation 'feels' like it should also go very quickly. You could probably do this by making the rate of rotation of the ship be determined by the rate of change of the angle that the mouse cursor is moving relative to the ship. You could use the GM trig functions to find the angle that the mouse cursor makes with the ship. To prevent the game from appearing mouse-aimed, you could implement a gradual slowdown from when the cursor is moving to when it is standing still.
Nice game, though!

Bomb: I like the lag personally. Do you really dislike it or is it because of the general consensus that "lag is bad"?
Your idea to manipulate the rotatition is pretty interesting. I don't think I'll update the game with it but it's a neat idea. Though you'd have to be careful to not make the game very tiring for you arm, heh.
I thought this game was sort of... Slow. It's not bad, far from it, but it started out fairly boring. Once you get farther though it starts getting really cool.
I also think you should change the background... it just doesn't fit.
I like the wood, though it is a bit low res. The game does become most fun when you reach >20.000, yeah.
With a little practice, I could make the top 20!
Anyways, great game!
Like others have said, it's very clean and polished; this makes a game go so much further.
Very unique gameplay concept; I did find it a little fast pace (for my taste) at times, but everything else was flawless.
Graphics were pretty nice; I would have liked to have seen a grid paper (or loose-leaf) background instead of the dirt/rocks.
The online high score table was a great addition; I loved how it automaticaly loaded in the game afterwards!
2D, WHY do you need to put these things out so fast?
It almost makes m feel bad...
What do you mean? anyway this was an older game, and more of a simple minigame as well.
Thanks for the comments!
