Anyway, I think opposites has my vote since it is the closest to my nomination, some of the others seem too restricting to people new to GM e.g time (can't see a new programming a time manipulation engine). I don't think retro is a good idea because it doesn't really promote originality and all them could still be done in opposites.

Well, at least they acknowledged my nomination...

Time Manipulation doesn't have to be all that complex, think Chrono Trigger or Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.....

Co-operation involves using difficult AI most of the time which narrows the chances of winning to the great programmers.
Not really. AI isn't mandatory. One can always make a really fun 2-player game. For example, two characters, each with it's own abilities and weaknesses, must overcome difficult challenges. This could be a nice puzzle game. Or maybe a player controls a mage and another a warrior as they fight their way through waves and waves of enemies in a fast-paced hack'n'slash game. There are lots of cool possibilities.
I think it's obvious what I've voted.

It's not that hard. If time wins I'll have some serious incentive to finish my time travel extension, which makes time manipulation easy.some of the others seem too restricting to people new to GM e.g time (can't see a new programming a time manipulation engine)

True, but I was thinking more along the lines of Prince of Persia type of time manipulation.Time Manipulation doesn't have to be all that complex, think Chrono Trigger or Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.....
But only pro users can use extensions, and I imagine most people new to GM will only have lite. It's not that hard. If time wins I'll have some serious incentive to finish my time travel extension, which makes time manipulation easy.

I agree, just 'feel happy' is too vague, however my very original nomination also said no violence or guns, it's now been amended to state that nothing agressive or violent is allowed either. I think that's narrowed it down quite a bit.Anti-Depressant is so vague. You can argue that any game which isn't a mindless bloodbath falls under that category.
I voted for anti-depressant as on the whole the more popular indie games are those which don't have violence. Most commercial games have lots, so when making your own game, you tend to follow the conventions of the commercial ones. However by having non-violence you're forced to think for yourself which should result in a greater variety of games.Anti-Depressant - Make a game to make people happy: no guns, no violence - something "feel good".

The coding itself wouldn't be too difficult, but coming up with an intriguing concept/gameplay would be the hard bit!

Though I'd agree Co-op does not require great AI, especially if it's a 2 player game.

What's wrong with that? Having a competition in the first place narrows the chances of winning to the great game designers.Co-operation involves using difficult AI most of the time which narrows the chances of winning to the great programmers.
I liked what the X-prize did for personal space travel. Cooperation might be a type of "X-prize" for GM AI.
