Cute little application.
I've seen ASCII art programs around, innovative that you thought of taking advantage of HTML so that you could have colours too. I'd developed an ASCII Art program once that used a thicker symbol depending on the hue / darkness, but yeah, a cool idea to use colour.

Not really useful though, obviously. =)

Thanks for the response, and while it may not be very useful it sure makes some pretty html stuff :skull:
But really, the reason I made this program because I wanted to see if I could, and it worked out in the end.

About that ASCII converter, it's pretty old and some images don't turn out very well.

Wow. That's a lot nicer than mine. Although, we both used the same idea of HTML, hmm... I can upload mine later, if anybody wants it. I'll probably throw it in open source. But I really like this one. Did you use like, draw_get_pixel()?

Yeah I did use "draw_getpixel()", since I couldn't find a better way of doing it.

It's nice, but the function is not draw_get_pixel(), but draw_getpixel().

May I make a suggestion? Try setting the font size to 1 pt. I did this in mine; It looks much better.

Thanks for the suggestion, I added a new version where you can specify the font size, so you can just set it to 1 if you want to.
The font size seems to work just fine with internet explorer, but not with firefox. There might be a setting for this though.
If the image appears incorrectly, just resize the window and it should be corrected.

Also, you may want to use the tag <b>. Not sure if it works good really, but it helps fill in more space. Try and find the fattest ASCII symbol you can.

Thanks again, I added the option to use bold characters.
Also, if you want to you can use multiple characters. For instance you can use "||||" if you think that just "|" is too thin.

LAST suggestion:

execute_shell(/*PAGE YOU JUST CREATED*/,false);
Run that before game_end();.

Oh and the splitting apart glitch, it's because of the way you coded it in HTML. PM me the source if you want help. (I won't steal it, promise.)

Nova HTML Converter
This application will simply allow you to convert image files to html format.

Here are a few examples in html format:
Example 1
Example 2
Example 3
Click the download link and just open with firefox, internet explorer, or another browser.

Here are a few examples in jpg format:

Example 3:

(Note: I didn't make the original images used, I just converted them from ".bmp" to ".html" format using my converter.)

Downloads

New version:
Nova HTML Converter v2
(You can now specify the font size and use bold characters if you want)

Old version:
There are two versions, one for windows Vista users, and one for non-Vista users:
Nova HTML Converter
Nova HTML Converter Vista

I've also made an "ASCII Converter", which basically makes so called ascii art from images:
Nova ASCII Converter

View the readme file if you don't understand how to use the application, and please notify me if you find any bugs etc.
The program will close itself automatically when the image is fully converted, and the time it takes to convert an image depends on its size and the amount of colors. (Converting large images will take a lot of time)

You cannot convert images larger than 800x600.
Supported file types: ".bmp", ".jpg", ".gif" (and possibly others).

Oh, and try converting something else than the test image ("image.bmp"), or simply replace that image with another one.

Replies are appreciated :(

Thanks for notifying me, I'll try to upload it again as soon as I can.
I just need to find all the files and a new host, but it shouldn't take too long.
