ACTION SHOOTER
by Drewdelz

What is Action Shooter? Action Shooter is a platform shooter from REBirth Gaming that pokes fun at popular shooters of that very genre. The game holds just as much action as jokes, though! Although since this is a very early beta, not much script writing has been done yet, thus cutscenes are missing/auto-skipped.
There's still a lot of things missing/unpolished, but it's still very detailed and layed out well for being so early in developement.

CUTSCENES AND MENU DESIGN ARE COMPLETELY TEMPORARY,
AND SHOULD NOT BE VIEWED AS THE FINAL PRODUCT.

* What I mean by "point-recision" damage is, shoot enimies in the head, it's a headshot. Shoot them in legs, they fall to their knees. Body shoots push back more.

Just a side note.
I'm looking for voice actors and comedic writers who know modern shooter games well, and can write jokes that players of those games and non-players alike would get. Voice actors must have a decent mic also. PM me if you're dedicated and interested.

That was super sweet! I like the whole feel/atmosphere of the game.

Graphics are very good. Everything looks cool.

I died pretty easily in the first level. Is there a hidden gun or something.. I couldn't get past the first house after going back again.

Great game, all though it was way too easy to die. Also, when he points his arm at the mouse, it for example inverts to the left even though he faces the right.

Hidden gun? No. You just have your pistol, shotgun, and uzi. But you only start out with pistol ammo, and get shotty ammo later on.
Just walk over to the bridge to check it out.(he'll say two different things) then you can continue on to the right.

And I know it's a bit too easy to die, but the final game will have difficulty options.
You're playing on "Normal" right now, basically.

fantastic game.
I really enjoyed it.
Just when I thought that GM games were getting ubiquitous and retarded.
This game proved to be nicely original parody that was *gasp* FUN.
Yeah, that's right.
I said it.
It was Real. Good. Fun.
graphics are really nice, physics helped with the fluency.
It had it's own style, and I love your presentation of things, very clever and just refreshing.
Sounds were nice, guns felt real, and had weight. holding a pistol was nice, just reloading made me unleash the inner geek in me and say "ooh, ahh".
The only thing that was missing was music, as well as ambiance.
Leaves and birds moving about made the level THAT much more enjoyable, and is extremely crucial for a nice atmosphere.

Overall, one hell of a game that is highly recommended for anyone to check out.

Thanks for the great review! :P

That's exactly what I was hoping to achieve with this game. GM games all have that generic GM feel to them, I was trying to break away from that a bit with this game.

Very, very fun! I enjoyed playing it till the end of the game, and the first level felt like a real clone of Resident Evil 4. It was very fun and I enjoyed everything, from the graphics to the gameplay, you did everything perfectly, I can't wait for the finished version. Yet another game from Drewdelz that becomes one of my favorites, just like that Gang game you made back then. Great job, highly addicting. 10/10

Opinion? I would love to see in the Radio Call it looking like MGS one's. Yeah Snake? Also, why do you have an Uzzi if there is no ammo for it? And, I would like to see a Windowed version.

Pretty good, I like you made the first level reminscent of Resident Evil 4.
Are you going to be making each level similar to awesome moments in different action games? That would be pretty sweet.

The radio call will look like Resident Evil 4's calls, obviously.
And since this is only a demo, and tons of cutscenes and details are left out, you don't really know the plot of the game. You have the Uzi with no ammo simply because you always have those 3 guns from the start. But you can upgrade them through many different ways as you progress through the game. But you don't actually get to use the Uzi in this demo.

Having never played RE4 I wouldn't know what the Radio Calls look like, but in this game I'm assuming there will be tons of Swearing, and jokes.
Also, you need to close the "Attn:Pikz" topic on the SSBNES forums. Well, can't wait for next demo. <_< Also, are you going to be doing Demos like SSBNES where you only release two, or are you going to be updating more freqeuntly with Demos for this game?

Woah that's actually a lot better then I thought it was going to be. I love how you have the books set up so that you can add different shooter game moments and also the whole RE feel was sick =) Just two things

1. Perhaps not have the enemies hurt you right when they jump out of the window so you at least have a way to not get hurt by them
2. Have the enemies that throw things have their arm up with it in their arm so that you can actually tell who you should shoot

great game keep workin on it :D
