Logos ** Closed At Author's Request **, YoYo + GMC *NEW* Greasemonkey script Options

I don't know about everyone else, but I often click the top-left corner logo to go to the forum's main page. The fact that it now goes to the main YoYo page is kind of annoying.

I think the GMC and YoYo logos should be switched.


Anyone else find this?

I agree to change the logos. It seems fit to have the GMC logo on the top left not because it used to be there, but because this is not the YoyoGames website; it's the GMC run by YoyoGames. The YoyoGames logo placed on the top right keeps it important, but makes it secondary to the GMC one.

I vote yes, traditionally a forum header would take precedent over the branding in 'most' forums, and from a user interaction perspective its more familiar.

Agreed, I keep clicking the YoYo Games logo by accident when I'm trying to read the board index.

Yup, I prefer the new GMC logo, it blends in better with the green, rather the previous one that simply was a green version of the previous blue one.

And it makes much better sense to have the logo on the left.

Maybe they could combine the GMC blue logo, and the YYG green logo, this might make a cool effect.

The link should be normal (that is, how it was before the update) but it should say on the bottom right in a small font "Sponsored by Yoyogames" or something.

From a forum usability perspective, then they should be switched, I too am used to clicking on the "upper left" GMC logo to reload the Forums root page. Though it shouldn't be an issue to change that habbit. It probably is more efficient to leave the GMC logo on the right. That way scrolling to the top of a page using the scroll-bar leave the mouse pointer exactly beside the GMC logo.

From a YYG branding perspective, it should stay the same as the upper-left corner is the expected spot for a more prominent logo display.

I voted to leave it.

I only use that area when I don't want to go to the main page. The button at the top is just easy than the text. (Turn the mouse wheel up a ton, put the mouse on the left side near the top and you got it )

Plus, the G's and C's confuse me. (Game Maker Community > General > The Community)

I'm too used to getting to the GMC board index by simply scrolling up and thoughtlessly clicking the top left. If I do that now I get swept away to YoYo Games.

Yes I think it should be changed, not because im Bothered about who his where between GMC and YoyoGames, but myself have clicked on the Yoyogames link and been take to the "nice" yoyogames page.

So for aesthetics reasons should be changed.

1. New GMC logo is very good. The old one seemed small compared to the YoYo one.
2. Switch them. I always end up at YoYo Games when I meant to go back to the board index.
