This game was quite addictive. I was suprised, however, that levels 5,23,and 24 were the only super-difficult ones. All and all one of the best games I've seen on GMC.

Sounds 10/10 Non-annoying looped song
Graphics 7/10 Not the best, but fit the style of the game
Gameplay 10/10

Average/Overall : 9/10

I don't get it, are we supposed to be able to defeat/die from the last boss?

andrergsanchez - Art is a limited representation of reality. You choose what to represent, to give it emphasis. A movie isn't how many scenes or actors or characters there are, a painting is not how big it is. Making a game is more about choosing the most important things than trying to pile stuff up.

heh. that is exactly what i needed now. not your best game but i can tell it wasnt supposed to be. i thought it was too easy as i had no difficulty with any of the levels or the final boss, but it was creative ill give you that.

also.. the graphics... they make me so sad..

6/10 as an actual game
8/10 for a game that id play when i was bored
2/10 for the main character
8/10 for awesome
2/10 for the monotnus music that is still stuck in my head
4/10 for the graphics
17/10 to increase your average score which happens to be 7/10

Personally, I thought the graphics went well with the game. Just because they're not the world's most beautiful and amazing things, they look nice and simple. The game itself is quite fun, and made me laugh. It definitely deserved a staff pick!

Which is the "K" level, People say its 12..NO you got 12 KILLS that would put you on level THIRTEENĀ

You start with level zero. The k level is level 12, check the level selection menu.

No, Wrong, You start on 0 kills, There can't be a "level 0" :)

9/10. You = win. The only thing I didn't like was that the music grew a bit boring after a while. And the K level. :)

It was pretty good, not very challenging though. Most levels were fairly obvious, except for a few. I thought the gameplay was pretty unique, but it would have been nice to see some more complex levels. Graphics and sound/music weren't anything special, but fit the game well.

Overall pretty good game.

Help on level 16, anyone?

EDIT:

Beat it. Hilarious ending.

Graphics and stuff are okay, but the last boss graphic looks out of place.

Sound is okay, but I eventually turned it off.

I hated full screen, so thanks for the option.

Gameplay is fantastic. Challenging at points.

8/10.

All right, let's see...

Presentation: Nice intro screen and level select screen, but what was with that looping clicking sound?
Graphics: The graphics were okay, I liked how the blocks and all the basic item/objects throughout the game looked. But the text and blood splatter with white around it, the character sprite, the gun collectable, boss =P , kind of contradict with your other good sprites, which makes me believe the good graphics were possibly from other scrapped games of yours? =P
Sound: Music was "funky" as you say. I don't necessarily like it, but I think in its own way it fits. Sound effects were fitting.
Gameplay: I felt that the gameplay itself, although introduced a different spin on how games should be played, wasn't utilized to its best ability. The difficulty varied through out in a jagged sort of pattern, not necessarily linear (yes, I see that this was your intention, although I would disagree if you said it improves gameplay)
Lasting Appeal: Good for playing once, but most likely not again for quite a while. No unlockables or anything of that sort.

Overall: I thought the game was pretty fun, considering I usually dislike puzzles (so my review may be a little biased). I managed to beat the game. Some puzzles were smart, while others were sort of... random and not requiring much skill or brains. Nevertheless, it was an interesting little game, but not much more. I think the idea could've been expanded upon in various aspects, and maybe more types of items introduced? Most of the game was just buttons, blocks, bullets and spikes. Still an entertaining game for the most part though. :(

Anyway, one of the best GM games I played

All and all one of the best games I've seen on GMC.

Best...game...ever.

Ego + 10. Thanks!

Music is the best, funkiest music ever to exist on the GMC.

Like, totally right? (Seriously). Credit goes out to Madcow from Newgrounds.

Cool. I beat the game. What a nice twist of a popular genre of videogames. Karashi is dangerously close to Koroshiya, which is the name for the Ichi the Killer manga.

If I'm correct "korosu" is the verb "to kill", so yeah...

Very good game, nice to see something a bit different. I played it all the way through and found it entertaining.
I love the electrocution effect.

Thanks Rob! I do as well, kinda a shame I didn't put in another electric puzzle. I planned to initially, but... it's difficult to make them good.

...The Antichrist walks amongst us.
Great job as always, 2dcube! :)

Did I miss something?

Presentation: Nice intro screen and level select screen, but what was with that looping clicking sound?

Well at least it's something different.. :(

Yeah, it could've been better, and I realize there are so many more ways to get killed. So many ways I didn't do anything with. However, different ways of getting killed wouldn't necessary make for different puzzles, and I decided to keep it simple. Thanks a lot for your review btw. I agree with most points as well.

@makerofthegames, that video is awesome. It's fun to see how someone else plays your games, because everybody plays different. Alsi I had no idea you could finish level 23 that way!

its easy ill post up

highlight to see:

1. press the first button
2. jump to the top and push the block ontop of the other one
3. go down and push the block onto the block switch. (DONT PUSH THE BUTTON TO THE LEFT!)
4. push the same block to the right leaving one space between the other 2 blocks.
5. jump on the other 2 blocks and push the top on down onto the single block.
6. go down and push the bottom block away crushing you with the top one

I've been playing for quite some time now, great game!
you always seem to nail the graphics part down, the controls were incredibly responsive, and the engine was extremely smooth. I don't know if committing suicide is something I'd want to do in a game, but as far as this game goes, you made it fun.

Not to be mean but I would say 4/10. It seemed very basic(coding) and graphics weren't all that good. With basic puzzle solving skills I blew though this and wasn't to amazed.

On the bright side though it was a very good concept and amusing game play. I played it twice and it was still fun so good job on that!

I'd agree with the review, but disagree with the points. I'd say 6/10 or at least 5/10, since it is indeed a short puzzle "minigame" and not a big mastodontial project. The graphics and coding were basic, but that's from a technical aspect. The game was still just as fun.

I liked it, though the game was pretty short. The concept is nice and was strangely amusing while it lasted. There were some very nice puzzles too, where there was an obvious trick that was pretty hard to see.

It would have probably been better with more levels, or at least make some of the easy filler levels in between harder so they take more than 10 seconds to beat.
