Hey there, I've made a simple remake of the fps with lighting, if you're interested.

This whole remaking the fps in order to show beginners how to make high quality games sounds like a good idea, and lots of fun.

The wolfenstein 3d game when you change the textures and edit the room, the bullet can actually shoot through the wall! I made a corner and the person is behind the wall and I shoot and I go to check the person already died... Maybe I could make bullet collision with wall then instance destroy...

My games usually do that too, i edit my .gmk file and it says the bullets don't go through but they do

Here's a First Person tutorial like the FPS tutorial for making advanced 3D models

It includes:
Using d3d_draw...(), and primitives, learn how to draw things like:
-guillotines
-simple tables
-windows
-programming moving blocks that crush you

Ah, I remember this topic. :P I thought my sonic doom game was so epic and such a good example... Well, at least it shows how to do a doom-style health hud. Sorta. Yaaaaay. ::lmao::

This deserves a bump. I know it has been a year and a half but these examples have allowed me to construct an engine by myself that is a heck of a lot better than what I used to have.

The Wolfenstein game has a glitch in it, where if you look down and continue to look down (pulling the mouse further down) the camera will begin to float off into space.

Pitch is what determines up and down, so just limit it.
if pitch>3 {pitch=3;} //down
if pitch<-3 {pitch=-3;} //up

Yeah this is a really good example, learned allot from it :)

I've almost perfected an edit to the Wolfenstein example that allows for jumping and limited ammo.

Here's a FPS extension example I made. Just messing around.

It includes
-3d instant shooting collision
-Duck behind boxes to avoid enemy shooting you
-AI that runs and stops to shoot at you
-Pickup weapons, reloading for pistol
-Menu that pauses things in the game, including alarms and more. While still drawing everything

Kurt,

This is a welcomed addition! Thanks so much, as I was just hoping to get into this more. Could you show us your talents and make:

-Posters on the wall, decals of blood, or bullet holes?
-More frames or angles (sideways, back) for the enemies and patrol paths?

I'll see what I can do. :)
