Are there any good 39DLL examples out there that are not made to make Mmo's.
It seems like every online engine is geared towards doing that.
All I need is a basic example connecting players and sending x and y between 4 players. I don't want huge numbers of players, just a small group. And without sperate client and servers. So in short are there any good examples out there that can do thta?

When I downloaded 39dll it came with a text file that walked you through the creation of making a pong game. (I think it was just called "Tutorial")
Well it kept the server and clients in the same program like you wanted. And it would be pretty simple to adapt it to send x as well as y.
Also, it should be pretty simple to add more players to join.
Sorry if this doesn't help you much, I don't have a link.

I have the exact same problem as this guy! Why hasn't there been a good example on how to do this by now?

There have been lots of good examples, and you can use those "mmo" examples to create smaller games, I honestly doubt gamemaker could handle 1000 players, considering most engines use a new object for each player, gamemaker would explode >_>
