I want to thank everyone who tried my game, voted for it, or replied to my thread! I'm extremely happy to have just won this competition. Not even so much the money, it's just great to be recognized in such a way.

It's been very great, the whole process. I already look forward to the next competition, even though I don't know whether I will join. The ratings, the rants, the discussions and just seeing and playing the entries. It's awesome.

;)

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Copying and pasting between forums I see...

Anyway, well done on winning the competition and I think you deserved to win.

He $1000 richer, he can do anything he wants. So there :P

EDIT: I proceeded to try the game (when I saw that it won :P) And well, I really enjoyed the game. The music was awesome and pretty immersing. But I feel the player sprite could have been more polished.

Good Work ;)

Me neither... the YoYogames website does not work with Opera. I won't use FireFox or Internet Explorer because I think Opera is better.
But that's offtopic...

The Yoyowebsite doesn't let me download the game. <_<

I'm impressed. I loved the mubly's realistic movement, the way they just hovered about you like that, joyous.
The only real problem I saw was the astranout's image angle. if you stood still on a slant it would flicker between angles.
Overall I give it a: 9/10

Good job,

The gravity was little buggy, but it's still good. Graphics and sounds were amazing and rest of the coding. Story wasn't the greatest, and boss wasn't that interesting. But I would still give it a 9/10 or 6/6.

If you jump and right when you start falling back, change the direction and sometimes it just starts flying around the map.

This is a great game. Everything fits, and there's a good deal of variety.

There is that image_angle flickering bug, but that could've been fixed easily if you had more time (only update angle when moving).

Wow 1st place? Thats great! This is a good game anyways! You gave it good level design and Graphics and music and...wait everything is great about this game! Its a really really advanced Game Maker game. This must have took awhile to finsh! Alot of programming and stuff. Oh and by the way those Mubly things did you kind of use the Wubly name of your game to name those Mubly creatures Mubly?

Here is your ratings:

Graphics: 10/10 And did you make them yourself? But there still good!

Sound: 9/10 9 because some sound effects were annoying. But the music was just OMG

Gameplay: 10/10 Gameplay feels like a Super Mario Galaxy type game.

Story: 8/10 Well storys about games really don't make me rate it higher or lower but the story of this game was good and you'll wanna play it! The story does make you wan't to play (At least for me it does!)

Interface: 10/10 You have a map of what planets your going and nice level design!

Overall Score: 10/10 Your going to have to highlight it! It is a great score though

Fantastic game!

I loved every minute of it. I was perfect. The concept, the graphics, the music, the fun gameplay.

10/10, I'd give it more, but the boss was a bit of a dissapointment.
BUT, I loved having ALL the little mubblies fight at once. That was cool.

Do you think you'll release a tutorial anytime soon? That'd be cool.

pretty solid game play, does get repetitive after a while though. I liked the music, it suited the game well, as did the graphics. A nice and simple story line.
very well made, solid engine, and game play.

Great little game. It reminds me of an almost identical game I tried a few months ago but I cannot remember the name. The guy you controlled had, I think, rotating legs and a tall hat. The levels were mostly orange and/or purple. Gameplay was very similar, walking completely around asteroids/planets and jumping to ones nearby. I'm sure someone must know which game I'm talking about?!

Yesterday I took this game to a friend to show this as a game I liked a lot and to show what is also possible in GM. It's a great game, with a great movement engine and solid game play. The music is also very fitting and the sound effects with echo are cool. And the graphics looked just like the commercial games from a few years ago. I like the switching between attack and unfreeze. Only thing I found a bit incorrect is the fact that a level gets easier as you progress, because when you have more Mubblies following you, you can kill Frozzd much quicker.

While playing at a friend, I did notice a few things.

  • When you are in the menu the first time and don't see that you need to use the mouse, and the mouse happens to be below the window, the menu (and world overview) scrolls down and then all the buttons are gone. One may think this is an animation that should be that way. I think you should make the menu not scroll outside the region of planes you can actually reach.
  • The guy who played asked "what to do now" on entering the Mubbly planet for the first time because nothing hints at anything.
  • I had to remind the guy who played to "menu is mouse controlled" at least once.

But these are all minor issues, I didn't notice when I played at home by myself. The only thing I didn't like was

  • I thought it was too short, I wish it was longer

because I was disappointed when I saw that there were only 12 or so levels. I want to play more ;) When I played all levels, only one or two were not perfect, so when the game was completed, it was even almost "perfectly completed". Anyhow, the boss was not very hard, and in that level, because you have so many Mubblies follow you, it is a bit buggy because some of them will get stuck into each other. Maybe you could change that to for example a limit of 40 Mubblies going into this level (because not all of them fit in your space craft?)

But, a great game anyway! Too bad I have every level perfect already ...
