The North, Pohjola

Description
This is my entry to the YYG's Winter Competition. In this game, you want to be god of winter. Gods of The North will put you to the test to see, do you have enought wisdom to be god of winter. They give you deck of Winter Cards. Cards with power of gods. Your quest is to try help humans to survive throught cold and long winter by using these cards. Part of cards help humans to survive, but other ones can harm them. It's up to you, how to build your deck, how much you have luck and in which order you use your cards in your hand. Build own decks, make strategies and get to the online hi-score list.

Game might be first little confusing but I suggest to read pdf or rtf manual provided with it and play several times to learn all effects and reactions what happens from different cards.

Future plans
Eventhought this is completed game, there is many features like more cards which I'd wanted to add but had to leave them out because of time limits. So if people show any interest towards this game, there will probably be some kind expanded version with more cards, unlockables and other features.

Nice you liked it. I myself like this kind games too and I tried to develop something new for this concept and not just copy old idea.

Sorry, no mirrors yet, 64D's file manager won't work. You can discard card after animation of the card have disappeared. Just click the card you want to discard, and it disappears.

I liked the graphics, but I think the game needs more content and I think that the extra cards in the future versions will help this.

There wasn't any button to exit the settings menu or I am so stupid that I couldn't find it. I pressed esc and it quit the game. Same thing happened with the in-game help...

Can't comment the sound effects. (Was too lazy to put my headphones on)

I think this is a good game. Just needs some work on it. Good luck with the competition.

the north is in english =)
and pohjola is in finland =)
