You play as Waxy, a party-loving weasel, and his new best friend, Rocket. Together they travel downwards at great speed, relying on only each other to avoid crashing into everyone else at the party. But what happens when Waxy wants to go home, and Rocket wants more fuel? A game of spirit, nerve, split-second charm and awesome smoothness, velocity - but not impatience, and most of all: the awesome skill to weasel your way out of wherever you don't want to be, and with your rocket, break through to the next stage! Info: Filesize: 6.7Mb File type: .zip Genre: Arcade/gravity action Levels: 70 Controls: Arrows/WASD for directional Space or Enter or Shift for Action 1 Escape for Action 2 Further explained in the readme file. Technical: Uses entirely hand-drawn graphics by Srehpog, the SXFMOD sound system by Shaltif, music by Hurtdeer. Requires a vertical resolution of 800, so some older machines using lower-res screens might experience distortion vertically. Enjoy. This post has been edited by Srehpog: Jan 2 2009, 10:24 AM |

I really liked the graphical part of this game. Everything seemed to fit together, and it has a pretty unique style. But I don't really like the gameplay and how it's formed. When you start the game, you get some sorta tutorial explaining everything and then a fella sitting somewhere with a night scene on the background.
I did however like how the movement was: easy but very functional. I liked the basic idea of the game, and also the graphics. But I just couldn't really enjoy it. It had sort of an abrupt start (no real menu and stuff), and it also didn't have a real story (not to how far I played at least, level 5 or something). Overall, nice game idea, good graphics, but just not really my type of game. I can, however, fully understand that other people love this game, it's just not the type of game I like |

I do agree though, the game was pretty boring for as far as I played (1-5)
It could use some more variation, it felt very basic, I also didn't like having infinite lives in this game, there wasn't any motivation for me to even try to clear a level. I felt little rewarded. Didn't get a reward after finishing the first set of levels and didn't even notice it untill I was in level 1-5. |

I thought this game was well done. I found it quite fun.
The only thing that upset me was the lack of modes..you know, if it had some sort of death match mode....oh, boy |

To sum it all up, great quality, nice presentation. Something that might be more helpful though is some critisism.
The only critisism I have atm is that it kind of lacks color at times. Not to say it's a greyscale game, but the colors aren't very bright and happy, I understand bright doesn't really fit in a game played at night and the theme isn't really suited for bright, but I just feel this is just *too little* bright and colorful. Again, I understand the theme, but a game has to *stand out*, and with the great graphics and presentation, the choise of colors and darkness would be the only thing I miss being accomplished as a factor for a game or screenshot to stand out. |

Surprisingly enough 1-5 is still very much in the Easy section, as levels 0-1 to 0-10 are essentially tutorial tracks to get players used to the controls. It was felt during testing that the game was far too difficult to start with, so everything easy was 'stretched' a bit. I doubt you're playing this any more, of course, but if you do, you might want to think about breaking in a bit further to where levels start containing more obstacles, gates, boost barrels, etc., or beating the star times, as they're where the main challenge comes from. |

nice game, quality graphics (tell me how you did the jet particles?), but too monotonous..
I got to lvl 3-3 (too hard) and as jaj said, It lacked reward... there was no incentive to beat the impossible time below your own. also, you need to purge your levels... take the four or five worst levels from each series of ten and jst remove them, especially the tutorial ones... you should let people get to 2-1 before getting bored (btw 2-1 was a GREAT level... maybe a bit long actually) also, you should add some better level naviatgion...at first I couldnt tell how to switch level... then I thought that the level meter was some kind of fuel bonus meter... also, I'm not sure if there were any, but different themed levels wouold be nice, at stage 3 maybe you could introduce lava themed levels? (he is going downward.. right?) also maybe some new tiles? you can really see the tiling in the screenshots and it dosent look too good :S nice game but needs more content and polish. |

Just the repeating of objectives and measures to do that. I do believe this deserves more attention tho, because I know for sure that lots of people will love this game |

Hey, Srehpog, it's me again!
I've just beaten the normal levels and now I'm trying to beat the mirrored levels. All I can say about this is that it is fast-paced fun just like Ark22. It's clear that you've taken your pencil drawing to the game scene, something that I've never heard of in years. However, sticking in Arial kind of ruins the feel. Using that font from Ark22's logo was fine, but perhaps you could have used that font from your secret project in place of plain old Arial? Despite that I liked the game, there are some problems. One problem is that the height of the game's resolution is 800, which is playable in 1024x768 but the bottom 32 pixels are out of the view. It was OK, but it took me a while to actually know which button started the game and I can't see my own time. The music got annoying after a while, unlike the ones from Ark22. A level editor could have added to the fun because now I'm having ideas for future levels. Overall, great game. I'll see how your secret project turns out next. 7/10 |

hello,
i just recently saw this game in a magazine (PC Powerplay in Australia to be exact) and wanted to try out this game, the graphics looks neat and different to others games i have played before. I cant however figure out how to get pass the tutorial, the bear , which i am guessing is the main character continue to sits there and looks up in the sky every so often. I saw the message saying " press button 1 (space) to continue", which I did and i think it came up with a pause screen and no way to continue. I feel stupid, but can any one help me out? |

QUOTE (kelvinate @ Jan 19 2008, 12:59 AM) I saw the message saying " press button 1 (space) to continue", which I did and i think it came up with a pause screen and no way to continue. That's the level-select menu. You press up and down to choose a level, and left/right to choose a set of levels, or the Waxy image to exit the menu. If it's your first play, you should be able to choose either '0-1' or '1-1' to play the first level of sets 0 (tutorials), or 1 (World 1). I'll have a look at why neither of those seems to be highlighted by default... Sorry for not spotting this sooner. Good luck. P.S. It's a weasel. |
