that's what I'd do, or just have a page that is hidden on the list of pages in your website, and they have to click on games where the link is in the center of the screen, and they look at it from top to bottom, seeing the ads ang going wow, such and such company did this..put an ad on a page then link to the download
and then get redirected from your sight

Tuntis is right. It is against practically all ToS agreements. You cannot tell people to click on an ad. They have to do it by their own free will.
But I've been to many sites that I've had to click on a ad like 5 times before I could procede...I just wanted to be able to make a little extra money from what nothing I'll make

Really? Well there are a ton of quality games that are distributed without having to press measly ads.
Here is a list for starters:
America's Army
Return To Sector 9
Jetz series
None of those download links ever MADE me click on an ad. On the contrary, almost every Terms Of Service says you cannot do this. I know Google Adsense clearly states this. Also, give me a link in a PM leading me to one of these sites where I have to click to download. Just because they do it, doesn't mean it doesn't violate any terms. This discussion is basically pointless because its going to end up in a discussion about how to find loopholes in a ToS.

Ben
I would on website design...I just wondered how this was done...
@Aertcz-I know those games are,but I don't have enough money, barely enough for supplies,I'm starting three companys,JPmusic,JPgames,JPvideo, and possibly JPgraphix...So all I wanted to do was put an ad so I could MAKE money for my freeware games..even if its just a $1 or whatever..But I guess it can't be done..No one and I mean NO ONE will click on my ads EVER I promise you that.
Anyways give me a minute or two I'll go look for a site that does that..hopefully their ad service allows that..then I'll pm you the link

You could do something like FileFront does.
Sorry for double post...
What does file front do?
Anyways I was thinking of a timer thats set for like 10 seconds,so basically you can wait ten seconds or just click on the ad to download...that way they mean to click on it...though most people won't...it not fair I help people out who I like by clicking on their ads to death..like image shack...or some of the peoples site linked from here at the GMC..

Actually that is against most of the ToS too, e.g Google AdSense

So you want to start up those companies. Trust me, Return to Sector 9 didnt have a budget, Sandbox of God didn't have a budget, etc.
Well JPmusic is up,just have to get a paypal account, then the site will be finished!I've already signed 4 artists.
Others are in process, but completed, just need to finish sites, but now ben is mad at me...
But anyways, what does filefront do?or is there any ways to increase the chances of them clicking?

am I talking to a wall?
Look in the creation section and look for a game that is hosted on filefront, then download it and find out.
What's wrong with google adsense?

It pays about 2 cents per click (or whatever it is). What's wrong with google adsense?
Pay-Per-Lead Ads, on the other hand, pay much, much more.
How much more can vary from $5 -> $30+ and even higher.
The ads are basically one page with a form for a potential customer to send their e-mail address and name and they receive a free gift.
Companies are willing to pay you for leads, because they can earn it right back and more if a customer buys just one thing.
It's all about the numbers...
Check out ClickBank CommisionJunction, etc. and you'll get an idea of some products and payouts.

It probably was against the TOS.
One thing that you'll probably be able to do (many allow it but check the TOS to be sure) is to display full page ads but allow the user the opportunity to skip them.
The ads can pop up randomly before navigating to a different page, or perhaps right before a download page.
As long as people have the opportunity to skip, they should be fine.
Keep in mind that unless your site offers great games, people may not stick around an ad ridden site.
You might be better off with banner PPL ads rather than full page ads.

Er... where did you get the impression that you can't put ads on your site?Well I guess I can't do ads on my site...
You can put up PPL Ads which are regular banners on the sides of your page, bottom, wherever.
You don't have to have an 'ad-infested site' with thousands and thousands of ads; as few as two can do. Put up the ad, and if people are interested they will click, hopefully fill out the form for their free whatever and you get paid.
No one is being forced to click the ads; they are free to continue downloading games, music, and so on from your site, but if they happen to be interested in an ad, they click it of their own free will.
You can't expect everyone to click on your ad but the way you measure your success is the click through rate, which is the number of people who have clicked on the ad and followed through with the form divided by the amount of times the ad has been seen. A 2-3 percent conversion rate is average, higher is great.
It's almost like signatures... They are there and no one's forcing you to click on any links, but the people who are interested, do click on them.
Generally, the more you post, the more people who see your signature and the more people who click on the links in your signature.
Same goes for the site, the more people you can bring to the site whether it's through games, music, paid traffic, affiliates, etc., the more people who see your ads, and the more people who (hopefully) click on them.
