1) you won't find any game like that that is less file size
2) many proffesional games do this
3) most GM games don't even change resolution
4) I don't have money for anything better
5) but it is good
6) for that kind of a GM game you just need a better PC
7) most GM games don't even have multiplayer, especially first-person shooter
1) Sapphire Tears, Hover Tank 3D to name two off the top of my head
2) Equally, they support 800x600 and 1280x1024 as well
3) And changing resolution is good... why?
4) Try
here. Lots of good free stuff.
5) That's why I added a bonus in the "Good" section, it balances out
6) Or I could go play Sapphire Tears at 60 FPS, which is made in D3D as well
7) Sapphire Tears or Hover Tank 3D managed it, multiplayer really isn't that hard
1.No, this is a good game and should be 13 megs
2.Yes, I fully agree, but most of the PC-s are 1280 X 700 and something...
3.Nope...I fully disagree
4.And...what about it...Will you die?
5.Err...GM bug...
6.Not so bad...
7.Nope...
8.You ever made a game in GM?!
9.Will you die?!You will never use something different than that...
1) The larger I make my game, the better it is. Fantastic logic there.
2) 1280x768 is the widescreen version of 1024x768, 1280x1024 is the standard size
3) Fair enough, but my review is based, strangely, on my view
4) No, but to make the best game possible variety is required
5) Heh, yeah, GM ain't great for resolution changes
6 & 7) Not really sure what that's in reference to, to be honest
8) Yes, I have.
9) TCP/IPX is how internet games work. For someone who doesn't have siblings to play with or a home network, it's kinda pointless to see LAN multiplayer on the menu
Have you EVER made a game in GM?!
You sound very n00b-ish to GM
I suggest you look at my user ID. I'm user 2,708 and you are 71,780. I think that solves that. Furthermore, just to list some projects I've worked on:
1) 2D deformable terrain
2) 3D deformable terrain
3) Planet generator, including weather systems and tectonic modelling
4) Lighting casting/shadow casting
5) Global Illumination (with OpticalLiam)
6) Polygon terrain
7) Smooth scrolling platformer
If 64Digits was online you would be able to access these files. My name is Juju on 64Digits, feel free to look me up when the admins fix the site.
please make a sequel with Xtrem3D (sic)
Agreed. Xtreme3D is a far better utility for 3D gaming in Game Maker. It includes the ODE Physics engine as well as bump mapping, alpha mapping and so on.
