This game is horrible. I played it for 10 seconds and it was laggy, boring, and just sucked. Good graphics on a simple game making program doesn't give a game the right to suck.  :(

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Maybe it's your computer that sucks? :P

It runs fine and at top speed on my computer. And (if you're in a "suckie" mood) you suck at critiquing. :GM127:

Ok that's my view... all the members put a lot of work in this game and i think that it turn out to be a very good game. So be nice, give it a try and give a fair rating not say is horrible or it sucks because you didn't like the sound, the graphics or the gameplay and if it is possible tell what is not good.

1) you won't find any game like that that is less file size
2) many proffesional games do this
3) most GM games don't even change resolution
4) I don't have money for anything better
5) but it is good
6) for that kind of a GM game you just need a better PC
7) most GM games don't even have multiplayer, especially first-person shooter

1) Sapphire Tears, Hover Tank 3D to name two off the top of my head
2) Equally, they support 800x600 and 1280x1024 as well
3) And changing resolution is good... why?
4) Try here. Lots of good free stuff.
5) That's why I added a bonus in the "Good" section, it balances out
6) Or I could go play Sapphire Tears at 60 FPS, which is made in D3D as well
7) Sapphire Tears or Hover Tank 3D managed it, multiplayer really isn't that hard

1.No, this is a good game and should be 13 megs
2.Yes, I fully agree, but most of the PC-s are 1280 X 700 and something...
3.Nope...I fully disagree
4.And...what about it...Will you die?
5.Err...GM bug...
6.Not so bad...
7.Nope...
8.You ever made a game in GM?!
9.Will you die?!You will never use something different than that...

1) The larger I make my game, the better it is. Fantastic logic there.
2) 1280x768 is the widescreen version of 1024x768, 1280x1024 is the standard size
3) Fair enough, but my review is based, strangely, on my view
4) No, but to make the best game possible variety is required
5) Heh, yeah, GM ain't great for resolution changes
6 & 7) Not really sure what that's in reference to, to be honest
8) Yes, I have.
9) TCP/IPX is how internet games work. For someone who doesn't have siblings to play with or a home network, it's kinda pointless to see LAN multiplayer on the menu

Have you EVER made a game in GM?!
You sound very n00b-ish to GM

I suggest you look at my user ID. I'm user 2,708 and you are 71,780. I think that solves that. Furthermore, just to list some projects I've worked on:
1) 2D deformable terrain
2) 3D deformable terrain
3) Planet generator, including weather systems and tectonic modelling
4) Lighting casting/shadow casting
5) Global Illumination (with OpticalLiam)
6) Polygon terrain
7) Smooth scrolling platformer
If 64Digits was online you would be able to access these files. My name is Juju on 64Digits, feel free to look me up when the admins fix the site.

please make a sequel with Xtrem3D (sic)

Agreed. Xtreme3D is a far better utility for 3D gaming in Game Maker. It includes the ODE Physics engine as well as bump mapping, alpha mapping and so on.

Whoops, sorry, I was thinking of the bullet length instead of diameter

Caliber is the diameter not the length (always gets me confused). AK is roughly 7.6mm compared to M4's 5.5mm

So yes, sorry AK is slightly more powerful. M4 does however have a faster firing rate.

I had a feeling 45mm sounded a bit like something out of a cannon  :(

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Yes, indeed.

An M4A1 uses a relatively small 5.56mm bullet, about 70 grains for a military grade, this also has more powder than an AAK round.

An AK round is a 7.62 mm bullet. It has the equivelent diameter of the U.S.'s .308 round (Assumening there are people here from other countries). It has less power, though more knockdown power at about an effective of 100 yds.

A 5.56 pretty just puches a hole in somebody, the 7.62 tears one :( .

Lol, and a 45mm is something shot out of a cannon  .

Anyways, don't get me worng, I was commenting on the relative damages were so accurate (Other than the G36, which a 5.56 but is apparently stronger in this game).

very good. the graphics where excellent(fore game maker) and it looked very professional. some things like the AI and there aiming was not so good though.
graphics: 8/10
add effects like water splashes

game-play: 7/10
when you die you can see underground, AI, there should be ducking, can take a long time to start a game with lots of bots,

sound: 5/10
the commentary sounds are... noisy

DeathFang, it is not my problem that you don't like the game. And you know what... I don't care at all. If you can make a better one - go ahead and we'll see it. In your sig there is a banner saying you are a Novice, and it is obvious that you don't know GM at all when you say this game sucks.

This game runs at 15fps for me when my computer can run C&C3 on full settings. Why is it doing this, there must be something wrong with the code.

If GM supported better 3D graphics

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Mark said himself that GM was NOT made for 3D games, only 2D...

3D is a bonus feature and should not be used for any serious 3D games.

Although there are some good 3D DLLs, the quality you can achieve is still far from commercial and this will never be improved in later versions of GM.

Don't make 3D games with GM... Stick to 2D if you want something acceptable.

For all fans of the game:

Now I am thinking of making a next version of Pure Action. For this purpose I will use the Ultimate 3D engine. This time the game won't be CTF (capture the flag), but DM (deathmatch). The action will be far more, and so will be the graphics and gameplay. This time the FPS (frames per second) won't be a problem. But what is most interesting is that the game will be very funny, something like a parody. The weapons will be funny (like egg throwers and so) and if you have any ideas, please post the at the Game Design topic I strated: http://gmc.yoyogames...howtopic=326441 I also think of making the charcters funny. So, if you have any ideas about ANYTHING, please post them here, at the Game Design topic above, or send me an email at dmitko_gamez@abv.bg
Thank you!

I am very glad that you're going to continue with this, and make it better. It's great that you're now going to make it deathmatch. I think you need to make it online though, since lan gets boring. Also, i don't like the idea of having it all 'funny'. I would prefer you just improved the graphics and the gameplay, made a campaign, and have it still a serious game. If it was with egg throwers and stuff i don't think i'd want to play it. I would love to see a campaign with this. Just improve the graphics, and the models. Make the gameplay better and sounds, then maybe make deathmatch and online.

I may have replied to this before but I just have to say that I was dissapointed by the poor quality of the AI: They just run at each other, stand there and shoot. I really think you could have done better.

Also I tried this over LAN with my friend and it was really buggy. The game wasn't lagging or anything, it was just when we teleported inside each other thus stopping us from playing that really got us. You really should have tested this a bit more
