Known bugs

Sometimes while battling boss you may get stuck.Fixed
When you jump on right or left corner you may get stuck on the platform. Fixed.
Sounds are kinda glitchy they sometimes stop(Old engine).
This is very rare but you can still get stuck in the wall when you go to it with fully charged spindash and jump
Sometimes when you are lightdashing sprite doesn't change.

OK, but everything looks a little too streached to me, sonic, robots, exc. (background could be better too. Ask d_ritar, he's good at textured backgrounds. :ph34r: ) It's a WIP though, and a new one, so what should I expect. :( Good start though. :chikin

EDIT: The name badnick was replaced long ago along with the name Dr. Robotnick. :ph34r:

EDIT#2: I haven't tested this idea yet, but what if you hold down both right and left? Unless programed otherwise your character should stop and resort to a single sprite.

It's possible to fix though, take my Horhay game for example. I stated:
//Step event or End step event, which ever you normaly use...
if keyboard_check(vk_right) and keyboard_check(vk_left) and forward=true
if hspeed>0
{
  //Do whatever, either stop or keep going. Your choice, I would do:
 hspeed+=//insert normal acceleration here
 sprite_index=spr_running_right
}
else{//if character is standing still
sprite_index=spr_stand_right
hspeed=0
}
And do the opposite for the left key. Put forward=true in the create event, and everytime you press or release the right key forward=true, and vice versa for the left key. Thus constantly updating the direction. :(

well I will fix it later now I'm working on other bugs. And your code wouldn't fix it I use more dificult way to move but with better qualitty.

That demo was too short to really find anything wrong with it. You shouldn't post wips that so early...

Also, Sonic is too slow.

If I had to guess you use something like... x+=h ?
I use that, I just converted it into hspeed for ya.

So what do you use for movement? hspeed, x, x=h, exc. ?

EDIT: Ho ho! Found a glitch,
(1) You destroy the robot no matter what.
(2) Press space after completing the level, when he does his victory dance. :(

The view should be more centered. And also, I fell off the edge and then I think I respawned(without losing a life) on the top of the screen and then fell off again. Also sonic needs to be able to gain speed faster. And the collisions are pretty bad with the enemies. This needs craploads of work.

Although it's farther development wise than my game, it lacks the speed of the Sonic games. It was also too short. But you already have many things implemented which I don't. Anyway, keep up the good work, I'll be watching.

New demo released added pushing and bigger level and some sounds. Pushing is a little glitchy now ill try to fix the glitches in next version. I'm currently working on slopes and angles skidding might appear in next version too.

The engine has been updated not much has changed I just added intro and jump is fixed a little. Story mode is going to be started at v1.0 badniks and spindash is almost fixed.

Very good. There was a problem though. When Sonic hit the wall, he stayed in the pushing sprite. Otherwise, good job!

Iv'e updated the engine it now has way bigger level then the older version. I added a secret move too you need to find the item in the level to do it.

Well I'm currently thinking in coding a new engine it will use trig because I am learning trig 2 years already (even not knowing that I am learning trig).
So expect new engine few days later it will have better collisions and maybie slopes.

I've updated this once again minor bugs are fixed like rolling while in air and jumping while rolling in air I'm currently fixing the most annoying bug:

I'm currently modifying collisions and making new sprites you may expect an updated engine after a few days badniks are almost finished now I need to refigure out how to make ring loss that doesn't make so much rings.

Ive finally updated it has many bugs fixed now when you spindash in to wall you will stop, I've modified spindash and skidding sprites because those lazy rippers don't rip the whole animation. Please leave feedback.

This is updated once again I've fixed the most annoying bug stuck in the wall, the badniks are going to be added in next version. In this version I added better sounds, fixed some sprites placement and spindash charging.
NOTE: The stuck in the wall bug can still be seen you need to jump when you're running at high speed or fully charged when doing spindash in to the wall. But it's still very rare.
