I know, actually, I think it has been asked multiple times.. but I think it's time to make seperate sections in the Game Maker Creations beside the Open Source one.. the sections are 2D Games and 3D Games. I think the admins should consider this to be added as I know me and some other members of the forum would like to see them seperate as we aren't really interested that much in 2D GM games. What do you think? Are you against it?

Let's seperate the fangames and the originals, the platformers, rpg's, tds's and rts's. Why not make a seperate board for all of them?

Considering the fact that GM is made for 2d games, and Mark Overmars said he didn't really want to develop the 3d in GM, I don't think seperating the 2d and 3d games is a good choice. Most members like the 2d games more than the 3d, and there almost no 3d games in the creations board, so why make a seperate board for them?

I like 2D better than 3D also, unless it's a commercial game.

I'm sorry, but there really aren't enough 3D games to make this worth while. As is always the case with adding new forums, newbies would see that there aren't many posts and so decide that if they make a 3D game, it will get great coverage and so we'll end up with loads of bog-standard 3D games.

Pros: It may encourage members to make 3D games.
Cons: These are likely to be bad quality.

As long as you put 3D somewhere in the title, I think that there's enough distinction there already.

you understand this is like a primar seperation between games in GM? that's why I would like them to be seperated, they aren't in the same rang, to be honest.. I mean, I know some people are against it, but that doesn't mean it isn't a good seperation. I see some people put their creations in 3D Game Techinques and in Game Maker Creations, so I think a 3D games forum is needed.. now, if the admins think this isn't a good idea, be sure to close the topic

That discussion wasn't about 3d and 2d, but about fangames and originals. Anyway, there should be no seperation in boards. It's not necessary (not yet, we don't got too many games in one board yet)

They aren't the same? The only thing in which 3d games are different than 2d games is the fact that 3d games are 3d and 2d games are uhhh... well..., 2d.

Besides, 90% of those who makes 3D games, announce that its a 3D game in the topic description. So whats the problem?

The yoyo site totally categorizes the games. I personally think we should drop the Creations section of the forum and transition entirely to the yoyo main site.

I've read the whole topic, I found it an interesting discussion, but unless I mistake the words fangames and originals for 2d and 3d, the topic was mostly about fangames and originals.

Just put 3d in your topic's title, like TheMordeus suggested.

yes, I was aware it had a discussion about that.. if nothing else, could we at least get a post icon saying "3D" to see it clearly.. it's kinda distracting between all those plain games.. and a GM7 smiley?
