the easiest way to do it is make a platform object then in the create event say start moving in a direction at a speed of... whatever, then collision with a wall makes it start moving in the opposite direction at the same speed.

That's better, but whenever my character jumps on the platform, it stops. When I jump off of it again, it starts moving again. Any help?

I think the thing is that the platform has no coding apart from the movement coding, and it's parent is the normal block object. I'm using the same coding as in the tutorial on the site.

If it stops when you jump on it, delete the portion in thecollision event where you are telling it to stop. Pull apart the example on the tuts page and youll get it no problem.

I'm not telling it to stop. There is no collision event with the player and the moving platform. I don't think I need one, as I can just stick the simple block object as the moving platform's parent. Is that my problem?

Okay, I've done what Vizierde said, but whenever I jump off or the platform or it moves in a different direction, I keep going. Any way to stop this?
