Description
KX Tesla is a very small extension that allows you to quickly and easily add electric bolts effects in your games. One action or one line of code is all that takes!

Screenshot gives an error 403-Forbidden. The effect is L33T though! 10/10.

EDIT: I've never seen a .gex that acts like a lib before... Didn't know that was possible :D

If you want to see the screenshot goto:

and copy and paste this into your address bar:
java script:document.write("<img src='Files/KX_Tesla/Screenshot.jpg'>")
and hit enter

make sure javascript is one word. GMC adds a space in it.

It will get around the 403 error.

i cant see how it could possibly not work, its so simple... just make sure you use it in a draw event.

and i dont understand whats the problem with the screenshot either... for me it works fine (i'm with ff2), maybe its ie... i'll see what i can do to fix that.

there's a function you can call: scpKX_Tesla_Draw(x1,y1,x2,y2,color1,color2,alpha1,
alpha2)

Ooooooooooooooooooh............ I can use this for lightning effects in a dark level in my game....

Where is the readme for this incredible SUPER very unnesecary extension?
Why couldnt you just have maken a gm6 as everybody else?

What is wrong with people? They're all like, "Hey, make a GM6" or "Can you make a GM6 for this?" Big deal! If you guys want it so much, go get GM7!

for the screenshot, just draw it unto your address bar or current tab and it should work

and please stop asking for a gm6 cause it wont happen. seriously, gm7 is free, there's no reason to stay with gm6 and be a pain in the ass of other users.

extensions in gm7 aren't free.

but anyway, nice effect. I found something kind of like this before that can draw along a path, but it wasn't as customizable and didn't look as good.

I asked a question, and it has still not be answered, mayby I should ask again, who knows? - I know
where is the readme for this SUPER unnesecary extension? so I know where I should put the extension, I have gm7, but when I put the demo.gmk and the wtf_it_ever_was.gex in the same folder, it says "couldnt find the extension wtf_it_ever_was"

there's no readme, there's an help file, and it's in the extension.

and like every other extension, you need to install it before it can work. but anyway, why would you ever want to install an extension as "unnesecary" as this one?

and Rusky, your right, gm7 extension support isn't free, but tesla requires a bunch of functions like draw_primitive and such, which aren't free either.

KNOCK off asking for a gm6 (more then once), this is made for gm7 and if the creator doesnt create a lib/gm6 dont bother him for making something good witch you cant get (unless you have gm7)
and if you have a gm6 it needs to be registerd as well so you can upgrade to gm7 pro for free so there is no problem. if you dont have registerd this is (nearly) inpossible to make.

This is a very nice extension. I am going to redownload it after I find my GM 7 Registration key again (I just upgraded to Vista in a clean install)...

This is excellent. It's just the kind of effect I was looking for, for my light-based game. I was pleased to find that it came with a help file, a demo, and a library, which made it easy to use. All in all, a great extension.

WOW, I've got to say this is great, 10/10. The only addition I can think of would make making a just as impressive flame effect(I've been having problems with a flamethrower)

Now for those of you who keep asking for a GM6....WHY THE HECK WOULD YOU WANT THAT!!!!!, I mean GM5 used less system resources then GM6 so there was a reason to stick with that..but why GM6. Consider this:

- GM7 is exactly the same as GM6 except with the added features...so i mean no change in code like the leap form GM5-GM6

- GM7 can be upgraded to pro for free if you paid for GM6 or GM5

- I know extention require GM7 Pro, but knowing GM code very well, I'm assuming blending and alpha values were used, witch will require the upgrade to GM7 Pro anyway.

- Plus, maybe Kaietnap wants to keep his source secret, as this would not be possible wile converting to GM6.

As far as I know, you need to be registered to use extensions in GM7. Perhaps they are not. Or perhaps they do not want to use GM7 because of the higher file size, perhaps they cannot because of the higher requirements, or perhaps they are using GM6 just until they end their current project.

Whatever their reasons, I think it would be good to release a GM6 version for those users.

Because most of those noobs have cracked versions and can't upgrade like normal people does. Gamemaker is cheap program,and cost is like you 1 week pocket money. Why not saving it and then buy it? :D

Very nice, although doesn't work well with very long drawings. Needs to stay in 1000 pixels or so. Many errors in the help file, but that's not a problem. I love your extensions so far, and hope you make more.

It looks like my old lightning engine needs a revamping. And I'm a little pissed you stole the name from me :wacko: I suppose it isn't as close. The new version is called TeslaGen. I'll probably change it to something more suitable.

I was curious to see if your version was better than my home-brewed one, and in some regards, it is. It is absolutely beautiful, for one. It does lag, however, just as badly, if not worse than mine when you start adding in several beams. For 1 beam at a time, it is 100% perfect. Otherwise, don't bother using gm, as it is just too slow for all of the vars to be worked out every frame.

Very nice. It works much better than other lighting scripts I've used, and runs much faster. I look forward to using it. :blink:
