BlasterBall Version0.5
Posted Image

Game Information: BlasterBall is a simple but fun game. There are 10 levels. The point of the game is to reach the gold ball without falling off the edge, or getting hit by a Spikey(A little spiked object) To reach the goal, you will have to find switchs to unlock doors, dodge spikeys, stay on the path(Which can be hard at times) and many other things. Have fun, and enjoy the game!
Controls: Arrow keys to move, and mouse for the main menu and level editor.
Objective: You are a little green ball, you must reach the gold ball without dieing. And, if you have time, before your time runs out.

Other Info: At the moment, there are only 10 levels. I am going to release BlasterBall V0.5 with only 10. Version1.0 of BlasterBall will be exactly the same, except more levels (hopefuly around 25) and more added to the level editor.

A really nice start. Not much bad to say about the gameplay itself, it seems like a nice idea. Just start massing up those levels.

My only suggestion is the that the graphics are a bit plain. Perhaps find a way to make the ball to look like its rolling, and get some more effects on the 'trail' behind the ball. Not a major problem, however.

Overall? I guess 7/10. Keep working though, this has potential.

Thanks for the advice.

Thank you for playing it and telling what you think, it really helps to get input from other people.

Could people please try it out and tell me what they think? I really want to know what people think about BlasterBall, it may sound kinda boring, but it is really fun :D

I uploaded a new link, which should have a nicer help, and some little bugs fixed.

(Also, I am not bumping, I can double post if it has been 24 hours later, and there is an update, which there is)

Please try it out, and tell me what you think! :D

Cool idea, good implementation. No sound is bad, hopefully you'll add some beeps and boops. Some problems I see are: the character accelerates too slowly. It can be really hard to dodge the enemies since you move so slow. Also, those 1 tile wide gaps are frustrating to fit through when your in a hurry. you just keep bouncing of the corners. Maybe reduce the bounciness, or make those gaps wider (2 tiles wide) or make the character a little smaller.

Also, when you hit a arrow speed booster thing halfway you can get stuck boosting towards a wall then bouncing back and back into the booster into a nasty loop. Also, the game is better in full screen, but whenever you complete a level, it goes back to windowed mode.

Also, the enemy are drawn over the bottom HUD. Increase their depth.

Overall good stuff. 7/10

You may want to change the name.

Blasterball is a widely popular game by WildTangent, formed by the person who made DirectX.

Yeah... it's OK.

Although you could add a bit of image_alpha modding to the thing that follows the ball! ;)

I am glad you enjoyed it!

I might just finish up BlasterBall, put a little ending to it, and finish it up.
