This is basically a 1 function extention/dll, that allows you to change Game Maker's current working directory. I'll give a warning now stating that you should be very careful when using this, but I have not found any conflicts or problems. For the extention the command is ( change_wdir("c:/"); ), it returns 0 if unsuccessful.

The zip includes:
-the source code
-the dll
-the extention
-an example for the extention

the forum rules say u have 2 explain not only it's contents but what it is and what is capable of unless you want a warning from a moderator pronto.

I don't think that it is very appropriate that anybody should be calling anybody names, no matter what they did or said. I know what this does, just not why it is needed.

When you do any file handling in Game Maker and do not define any root, the default root (working_directory) will be the root. By changing the root instead of writing a directory each time saves coding.

This could also fix the "drag into the executable and change the working_directory" issue.
