Great job! I love this DLL! I'll be using it in some of my games. Thanks again ;)

Thanks!!

hahahha i made it a bigger screen by just making the room size larger!!! i have a question, how do i open the ddl, because everytime i try, it just comes up with a screen asking which program to open it with????

What :s the dll is compiled cant be opened with nothing... its not editable

Is it possible to use this with new window api functions?
Or can you just go to an url in popup?

Might be

can you add some functions to allow user more control. Ones i really need are to reposition the page, i.e. scroll it half way down etc... and also a function to get the current url,

say you had a textbox showing the address, when you click on a link on the page this text should get updated with the new text

I lost the src of it, o i cant do much

I'm gonna try this out ;)

Ok

how can i change the homepage for that?

You mean change were about:home point to? Thats related with IE not with the dll...

This is a very nice dll, thankyou. I'm using it to view this page =/.

If you have to actually ask, I think you might be missing the whole concept of "Web browsers" and "Ads served to web browsers". And no, this is NOT a GM Browser, this is a GM app with an IE frame integrated into it.

Here's how it works:
This is simply a quick and dirty mash up of the IE frame that you can integrate into your game (I've seen other "commercial" games use the IE frame in their game, not awfully professional, but it gets the job done--as long as the IE that's installed on the user's computer isn't completely screwed up beyond repair like mine). Simply direct the url to your web site with ads, and bada-bam bada-boom, you have ads "integrated" in your game.

Whether this is legal or not is up to the individual ToS of the advertising company you're working with. I know most CPM based (at least the good ones with 60%+ revenue that goes to you directly) does not allow you to embed their ads into applications, so this is a no go. And since you are embedding it in your game, CPM based ads are pretty much the only type you'd want to use (Let's be honest here, who actually clicks on the ads that you see on B.net while you're looking for games to play in SC or WC3? Not me.), not CPC based.

Edit:
Here's the post where I posted a proof of concept .gmk on how this might be done. Read the whole disclaimer before you start using it, and always keep in mind that some (most?) ToS prevents you from integrating these ads into applications.

Am downloading your thing now, thanks.

you have to create a _tWebSize - variable, or easily click on "treat uninitialized variables as value 0" in the ERRORS-section of the global game settings.

or make a extension to go in a separate link to the DLL, and allow the DLL to be in the extension and upload it to the same page...

Use a text-box to have the user type in the website (either through get_string('Enter a website','http://www.google.com'), or by using a more professional textbox script {there are some on the forums})

So if you're using firefox does it embed firefox into the game? or does it still use windows IE? With the new security flaw found in Internet Explorer, I'd like to know if its safe to use this still.

I think just IE, unless the DLL can detect what your default browser is.
Which would be a good idea *hint hint*

Its nothing todo with the default browser, it uses the IE activeX, Firefox dont have an ActiveX to embeb in windows app's.
The IE engine is used, there is a way to embeb the xulrunner into an application but its hard and requires lots of hacking
