Hey everyone, I am releasing my first ever DLL! I have been learning C++ for the last few days, and now I have finally released a DLL.

I realise, this is probably not very useful for most games, but I made it because I needed it, and I also saw a request for one the other day somewhere. It basically returns the type of the drive which the user specifies, e.g. if the user types "C:", then it returns (for me), Hard Drive.

Here's the link - Link!

an example is included.

May I also take this oportunity to thank Porfirio, who helped me learn C++ ;)

edit: typo :D

DLL cannot be used for system information programs

thanks everyone :D - I am now working on my next DLL - it is like IsmAvatars which returns all the Drives installed on the PC in a string, but it does it so that that drives are separately returned, so you don't need to separate each character in GML ;)

I'm sorry for reviving this, but I wanted to put it in my game's menu, so I don't get errors when saving, such as if this is on a CD I'm taking to a friends house and don't want to extract. How would I be able to detect what drive my game is running on?

Have something you want to figure out how it works? Try a test bed. They are fast to load, and great for experiments. And they are FTW.
