This DLL allows you to create .SWF Shockwave Flash movies with Game Maker.

Current features:

* Animating the movie using frames
* Draw text with custom .FDB font
* Make shapes with lines and bitmaps inside them
* Use your own movie size and frame rate
* Create a HTML file for testing
* Custom colors of background, text, and lines

This is just a first version, more functions like for sound will be added later.

We can. Xeption (i think) made a Dll for it a couple of years ago. It was made for version 4.x, but it does work of version 5 & 6.

you could probably also configure GMovie to play flash movies in the window as well :)

sorry to be fussy but well over 1/2 the people on the gmc dont hav a .rar extracter... is it possible to make it into a .zip?

Does it capture frames as bitmaps and use them to make a flash movie at a selected frame rate ?

Yes you can. Use the browser embed dll and just set it to embed a SWF :)

Ive been doing this for ages to use SWFs as cutscenes for my games :)

One thing you need to add is sound support though, unless there already is and I'm just not seeing it lol.

I doubt it, since flash uses vector based drawing. You'd have to make something of adobes document on the format.
Ofcourse you could, but it'd be better to make a separate one..

i have Sothink SWF Quicker (a flash making program). will i be able to work with this dll and sothink to make a flash file? that would be awsome. i will dl now.

Hmm, verry interesting h0bbel.

Here's an idea, people might put up a GM server which constructs SWF and allow people to play a sort of GM-made game online. Seems a bit hard to do though.

why not just convert the bmp to a png?? that seems much less hastling.
P.S. what kinds of sound formats will this supporrt (if you know.)
P.S.S i'm not saying hurry, i'm just asking when. when will the next version come out? (maybe you should do the thing people do in thier sigatures. eg:

This is awesome-- just what I needed for my current project.

Two questions:
1) How do you set the flood fill to just a color, and not a bitmap?
2) Will you be adding basic shapes like circles, squares, rounded rectangles, etc?

Is it possible to put actionscript to frames and change the publish version?

i know quite a bit of flash lite programming and wanted to make a program so that people could make mobile phone games! (i've been searching myself for years and can't find any)

To add sound, just add an object that plays an sound when the swf file start playing. :whistle:

Looks very good! Are you planning on adding system interaction like controls/features (keyboard, mouse, etc.)? It would be nice if you could make the DLL do something like that, then Flash Game creators could be made in GM! Well, good job and good luck!

What!? There's a free .swf editor on GMC? Nooooooo..... :( If only I knew about this before spending a lot of money on the Adobe Flash!!! Oh well. :)
