The battle system is terrible, I'm afraid to say, as it doesn't follow the formula at all, all it does it do pre-determined amounts of damage.

But hey, that's all they pay attention to? Right?

TY ravener, much appreciated, of course now that I look back those things that annoyed ppl were simple things I forgot about, also they are newb mistakes and they make me laugh at my former GML skill.
Zee if it really urks you so much then Ill go back and add as many of those things as possible, and if you want them so bad post the damned formulas, its a benefit for everyone that looks in this topic if you do.

The combat system is still awful, it's not pokemon, it's a cheesy crappy "I'm going to make stuff up when I don't know" battle system. Honestly, what about held items? What about critical hits? Do they ever miss, what about STAB? Or immunities? Abilities? Almost everything I can mention, has been ignored in favor of a version so watered down I doubt even a drop of accuracy has been added except graphics.
But hey, that's all they pay attention to? Right?
Man thats a little harsh. If someone does something, and you dont like it, do a little positive constructive critism. Otherwise dont comment.

Hey chill out Zee, I only started that ages ago with minimal GML capabilities, I've beefed it up a lot since then. My skill should easily be pointed out by my Bag engine.

The new battle system I have here can already do that but its a good thing someone else knows how to do something like it, the only reason I redid the entire battle system was because its easier to do that and then throw it into Zees face.Hey chill out Zee, I only started that ages ago with minimal GML capabilities, I've beefed it up a lot since then. the only reason I redid the entire battle system was because its easier to do that and then throw it into Zees face.
And then throw it into Zee's face? As far as I can see he was providing constructive criticism... One of the great features of pokemon games resides in their battle system, a battle system is far from being two pokemon looking at each other and dealing a certain amount of damage per attack and losing PP and HP.
If he does know the formulas he should certainly post them, but he has a point, the pokemon's battle system is much more than what you have right now.
Maybe he was a bit harsh with the "I'm going to make stuff up when I don't know", but overall he just wants you to make that battle system as good as it can be.
Peace

I would like to announce that my Npc example for a Pokemon engine/game is done. It is open source and is free to use.
I do require credit as it took a few minutes of my time to deliver it to you all.

Yes, we all know that. Its just that the link contains a .exe.er... you can open .GM6's with Game Maker 7.
