You can assign materials to it or do it in the 3ds.

Also, is it possible to load files without using .pak archives? I don't mind, but it gets annoying after a while.

You may switch off pak.

Is there anyone who can make an example on how to use materials?

i use 3DS max for modeling, but how can i add textures?

Use Unwrap modifire for your map.

You can't use multiple textures w/o some coding.
E.g. for multiple textures is in bami's wiki

Well, after trying a lot I finally got it...
For all those who can not load a map created by yourselves, you just have to asign a material to every single object you have modeled before you export it to .3ds or any other format...

Sorry mate, i'dd rather be using U3D.

U3d seems to be MUCH faster than this.

But well.. The ODE thingy seems quite tasty, to bad it also exist for U3d

I’m Mory(maximum power) the leader of “TOTILA” the game development studio.

For this game we use from abilities of Xtreme3D like:
: 3ds Format Import
: Character Animation
: Motion Blur
:Toons Shader
: Simple Water Shader (No Real reflection)
: Multi Texturing (for Light map and...) I test 5 channels successfully!
: Fast Collision Checking (no lose Fps in big trains)
: Render To texture

and i added some script to complete this game to reach a real world:

: LOD ( my city is very very big and i need it so much,3 level was enough )
: 3D Sound with Doppler Functions to make a real 3d sound for cars and city and other effects)
: Dynamic loading ( to give more performance )
: AI for car (cars move in the streets freely, u can make rush with blocking ways)
: Nature ( like birds , fishes , cats that u can see in the game )
: Flex Camera (white velocity and blocking near walls and obstacle)

I’m trying to solve some problem to finish this game, some problem like:
: Not motion blending
: making ugly transparent in transparence and alpha map textures that assign to the planes such trees and foliages and smoke.
:lightmap in the large area like a city .
: jumping
: Bad setting in Fog renderer that have a range between 0,1 (for example not 0,0.5 )

So see some screen shot from our team.
I’m a programmer and leader project and a graphic leader and 3assistante and 3texture designer (to make a original texture that u've never seen before).

This is an Adventure-Sport Game. U must find ways to make yourself reach and powerful to win in the race of ….....

Can someone help me with the room changing? I really don't know should I destroy the engine when I change room or can I use rooms in general... It's really hard to find any help with xtreme3d. Every time i try to change the room my game crashes. i have tried to destroy everything in the room ends event and start again when room starts, but it just won't work...

can you load a calagari truespace 3.2 scene instead of a 3ds max one? I don't have 3ds max.

Self-made antialiasing; post FX; LOD; dynamic clouds; very high polycounts.

I wish Xception would decide to fix some of the cracks in this, though. They can get annoying... functions that don't work, or don't work the way you expect... functions in the manual but not the dll; missing functionality...

For some reason the HUDSprites appear dark in my game... I dunno why..

Actually, it's transparent... o_O

above your draw code, it might work in X3D :)

Can someone help me?
I have the ODE and Xtreme3D in one now, but how can I let my camera collide with the walls?
It just won't work :lol:

just one question.
my question is:

i built my game. now, i want initialize the engine in my game so it improve my graphics.
how im doing it?

it has so much functions.. i just want the function(s) that does the great graphics you showed in the examples.
i tried to figure it out by myself, but have not succeed.

The project was dead, discontinued, and so on.
But because you don't stop posting about it I decided to continue it.
I don't have much time but I do everything I can for my GMC members.

you must define e colllide sphere and define e fpsmanager for it (also must define levels to fps manager) and make it parent of your camera . i do it this way.

Dear Xception:

at first: great tanks for your wonderful job . This engine is great and cool and could be one of the best and easy 3d game engines.
I work with Xtreme2 scene 14m.

It has some magic ( like use .smd file , character animation , stencil shadow , child and parent, loading texture and material and objects , hud , bump and toons and other shader ,heightmap terrain )
It has some powers (like fast collision detection , fps manager, load BSP models like csm or dmf , target camera and focal and scene scale, ODE, )
It has some abilities (like light color , load 3ds , coordinate second texture , sprite , 3d text , billboard , primitives , move and rotation and scale as easy as possible ,render mass scene over 500000 trimesh)

So Xtreme2 has some bug and weak like:
1-collision normals and collision position work just for raycasting (I need it for any collision detection )
2-fog does not effect on stencil shadow .also have bug on big and tall objects. Also it has no opacity percent , it cause the sky box invisible and white )
3-stencil shadow has some bug (of course it is very better than stencil shadow of Virtools engine and Quest3d engine: rolleyes: )
4-I need per pixel light. (Lighting is the weakest thing of Xterem2. I have no idea about interior lighting with these lights)
5-lights have no fall off.
6-I can’t set deferent material on the copy of any object, it cause crash the game.
7-buggy z-buffer. You solve it in x2_dev kit with function sprite.Zwrite .its great. But what about Objects? When I use png (and any other alpha support image file) it causes ugly transparency. Alpha artifact or Z buffer write still make bugs to alpha maps.
8-light map is hard to do with .3ds format. it has must notes and I don’t know how I can do that for a big scene . in 90% cases it don’t work .I force to use csm format .( you know that its hard to design scene in Cshop4 rather that 3DMAX )
9-partition system. it need a lot of memory ( to copy objects as mesh!) and waste a lot of time to loading . It was good if it use straight of freeforms.
10-I want to add new shaders, is there ability to define external shaders or FX?
11-TrisRenderd counter is wrong. Multiple ¼ to show real triangle rendered in scene.
12-Xtreme 3d has many potentials to be one of the easiest 3d game engine but it needs to have complete documents for each functions .there are so many useful function on it without any document to use theme. At least pleas define a sample from useful factions.)

I have so many script and samples from works that I do with game maker and your great dll.
Script like real third person game with dynamic and collide camera. Kayak racing. network (client/server ) shooter game . And moving path oriented objects and camera.
Also I work on a car that I define in Xtreme with ode. This car use ODE but another ODE dll that Bahmi use on its buggy racing sample in GMI. I port it in Xtreme2 but it doesn’t show real rotation of car body and wheels.)
And I put fully 3d sounds functions with Fmod dll that make scene as real as possible.
If you want I can send any samples to you. My pleasure is answer to me.

Good to see that you're back, Xception.

Might I suggest fixing the terrain engine (it's rather abrupt in its height steps - as if it's using a 4-bit image, rather than the full range of colors; also, it might be nice to use all three colors in the source image for height reading - for greater range of heights)?

Also, animated models are much, much slower than they have any right to be.

Finally, X3d seems to have a great deal of trouble scaling up sprites. A single HUDsprite, scaled x2, slowed my project down from 100+ fps to 3 fps. This also desperately needs fixing.

Thanks for your consideration, and great work on everything but these points.

Please update the documentation!
It's extremely hard to work with X3D if there is no explanation of what a function does.

this dll is awesome but u did a mistake for releasing this dll , some "thieves" may not give credit and use it like his own dll.
