does anyone know where i could get some sprites (mostly animated gifs) from the might and magic games? especially heroes 3 is what i'm looking for but i'd like sprites from any of the might and magic series.

Yeah, I know what you're talking about, but the series isn't really popular enough that you'd find any sites with them. What I'd suggest for the Heroes III thing, is to go into the map editor (I believe 3 has a map editor, but not 4 or 5) and print-screen each of the objects from the object selection list. Those are already on a white background, so if you copy the sprites you want to use, they'll already be on somewhat of a sprite sheet.
