I started this game a long time ago for a three colour competition. It didn't make the deadline because it was way too ambitious, and in the meantime it has gotten a lot more colourfull.
Story: You live in a village "chosen" by the gods. At least that is what the village priest Alakazoo tells you. Every day, he will come out of his temple and tell the village people "the words of the gods." Being a "chosen" village means you can't ever leave, and you are not alowed to have an opinion. But nobody seems to have a problem with that. Except you of course, you are young and you are bored of doing nothing all day. So you decide to ask the village priest if you can leave the village, and thats when the problems start... Main Characters: Dude with the black cap (it is black now yes) The character you control and the hero of this story. Looking for adventure in a boring village. Mother She doesn't really like the situation she is in either, but keeps her mouth shut. Why would that be? Priest Alakazoo Plans to take over the world. Many of his evil deeds will be revealed troughout the game. Mister X What to think of this guy who is acting all mysterious? Is he an important part of the plot or is he just plain crazy? At least he gives you a weapon, thats cool. Screenshots. ![]() Demo: http://www.jajproductions.nl/SmallWorld.zip Controls: Arrow keys x to jump and w/z to use weapon (and space to select) down to talk Hope you like it! The boss battle song and the song at the end of the demo are not original yet, they will be in the future. This post has been edited by jaj: Apr 17 2007, 02:25 PM |

That was good. The graphics are nice and the controls very smooth. The story looks interesting. Well keep up the good work!

QUOTE Sorry if this is a double topic but I don't know if I posted this already or not and I searched on every searchword I coukd think of You could just click on your username in any of your posts, or at the top of the forum. On that profile page, there's a link to all of your posts. The graphics look really good. I'm gonna give this a try in a little bit. EDIT: download doesn't work... Hey, this game is really fun! The only thing I had trouble with was jumping off a ledge like 4 times in a row because I spawned right at the edge. I dont have ideas to fix this but you might.

you are playing the old demo? (the new one doesn't have a knife)
You have to beat the apple minigame (go to the left) |

I restarted working on this project after almost a year of pausing it.
I've made a lot of improvements, but storywise, the new demo you can download at the first post provides only a little more depth in the storyline than the previous one. The one level that is there is a lot better now than it was though. |

Great! I always liked this game, even when it was still a blue world.
A few things though: Sometimes this game suffers from blind jumping, when you are almost dead and in a dangerous area you might randomly walk around not noticing everything, that way I got to the first boss without noticing. Also, it starts semi-hard, there is NO learning curve. perhaps you can make some "wild" creatures in front of the temple? Other then that: Lovely, I can't wait to see more. |

Nobody, you are replying on the demo that I showed you on poppenkast, this is a NEW demo, it's much easier and doesn't have the blind jumping stuff anymore
