Hm, it seems that my server is down. (5/13/06, 3:30PM EST). Try in an hour or so and it should work.

EDIT: Well, the link works again. (5/16/06, 4:56PM EST). I was off by about 26 minutes on my first estimate

I think he meant you can duplicate the sounds of a modem, which is entirely possible :)

Pretty cool DLL...I didn't find any problems with it. Nifty for pseudo-old games and such.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

What does it do? I imagine that it would just beep uncontrollably, and the beeps would pile onto each other, and it's supposed to do that, because it's threaded.

You must understand, being threaded, it will not wait for the next beep command to end before executing the next beep command.

I must say, you've created a dll that makes a little beep in the speakers, THAT is VERY useful ...

Btw, do say WHY you don't want anyone to mirror your files,
I know that you don't want other to mirror, because in that way updates would/may be easier.

EDIT: AAAAARGH! TYPO! Smarttart62 made a whole post telling me I made a typo!

Your computer comes with a "speaker" inside of it's tower. That is where the beep comes out of. NOT your desktop <_<.

Would this be able to play multiple tones at once? This would be required to make "modem" sounds, as they use DTMF (two tones at once) to make the sounds.

The response time is quite low...

I am quite aware of the alarm being slow however I used the step event.

The example only played the first beep tone.

Therefore answering celebrace's question.

Sorry for bumping an old topic,
I am making a program to annoy my teachers at school out of this. A sort of beep keyboard. The sad thing is the school omputers cannot run gm6/7 games only 5.3a and below.

So I copied everything from the gm6 version to the 5.3a version. Ran the game and I get an error :GM073: . Is there any reason this shouldnt work with 5.3a?
I run it and when I press a key it plays the beep but then I get unexpected error occured while running the game. :P

Tell your school to buy new computers. If there are schools still running on crap hardware that can't even support gm6/7 then something is wrong in today's schools.

Dinsdale,

Maybe you are calling the DLL wrong? It's been years, and I don't have Game Maker installed on this computer, but maybe the DLL functions changed around a bit between versions. It's been so long, I can't remember.
