Can i suggest you make it possible to download without the music pack?
It would be really nice not to have to download 20 mb, and many people are happy with their own music. |

Yeah it is an incredibly in-depth game but quite laggy and also the download takes ages.

Incredible game! I must admit! I am completely and totally blown away by this! This is the best game ever made in Game Maker without a doubt. There is only one thing that I don't like about this game and it is that it changes screen resolution. I am always multitasking and I simply cannot play a game and not be talking to someone on AIM at the same time. It killed me to not be able to do anything else because of the stupid resolution change.

SxxB, You should play Iji. But there's no doubt in my mind that this is in the top 5 or so- Srehpog, you seem to be one of the few people that actually has the patience to create an adventure game (and well, might I add), and I applaud you there. Although the game does have it's fair share of problems, the fact that you made such an ambitious game alone is something to be celebrated, let alone with all of it's positive aspects.

Yes, he does.
I'm just very busy with my next project at the moment since it's almost done... when I release that one I'll go over my old games and bring them up to date, so correct a few bugs which are left in Ark 22 and maybe change the full-screen (although I'm sure it was changed TO resolution-exact on request, but still). These days I'm still checking the topic in case there's anything serious, but since it's only a couple of typos and value errors I can fix in a few hours, I'm just letting it sit tight 'til it's time to make some changes. Anyway, you'd think by now it could be a 'final' version at last. Also, yes - everyone play Iji. It's superb. |

And the memory of that southern building in New Samosa village haunts me to this day... is there anything in it? This post has been edited by That guy behind you: Jul 16 2009, 09:52 PM |

I'm having problems with Chapter 3, I got past the automated turret by running through it, but when I get to the rock that looks bombable, it doesn't blow up... is that a glitch, or am I supposed to do something else first?

That blows up as part of the story. You have to sneak into the village first by hiding in a cart to the west. |

Hey, guys, I would love it if someone could tell me how to beat the very last bit of the Intent boss at the end. I've made it through the three first segments, but then I always die when I face off against the fourth body part. There just doesn't seem to be enough health around to sustain me long enough to shoot it to death....Help?

Maybe someone should create some kind of hint guide to the game compared to the amount of people already asking for help, lol
I'll have to try this game out sometime, but rather going through ALOT recently (Close Family Death Etc.) |

I know this is WAY old, but it is legendary to me and in the community. I have played it nearly all day now, and I'm in Chapter 3 and I'm stuck in the level. After the dark room I need to get by one of those things that are blocking your path and are in both realms. I can't see it in the dark realm and I really need to get past it. Ugh...
Now onto my review! Overall Rating: 20/10 WAY BEYOND (Or should I say 22/10 hehe) Graphics Rating: 10/10 (The graphics all fit well with the game, and it still had flare for looking simple) Animations Rating: 10/10 (Not too over the top, just perfect. The animations were amazing.) Story Rating: 15/10 (Not only do you have an amazing plot, but the cutscenes are beyond expectations too. Freaking epic.) Difficulty Rating: 9-fricking-bazillion/10 (I thought this would be repetitive or Zelda-like, but the puzzles made me cry.) ADD-Friendly Rating: 10/10 (I hate repetitive-ness. This had so many things that were different. Kept me playing for all day.) Review: Holy crap. This is the number one Game Maker game I have ever played. I don't care if its 3D, or whatever, I just care that it entertains me. Thats what games are for. Some people have turned gaming into an obsession like a sport or something where they sit around and critique the lack or this or that in a game and stuff like that. But the game's sole purpose remains for a lot: to entertain. I love to sit down at a game that not only is extremely fun, but keeps me coming back for more. I have never seen such class in a Game Maker game. This is far better than some professional games that I've played. So what if its not 3D, its still the best. The puzzles are over the top. I was pounding my head on the desk at some of them. The plot is out of this world! The backstory of the game isn't exactly blockbuster material, but this game plays out like a good book or a movie. The cutscenes were phenomenal. The drawings you did couldn't have been better. They were best left un-colored, which you did good. It seemed like a movie when suddenly you'd be reading what your character had to say and the view would be on him or near him, and then what the swordsman dude said something it'd be close to him or on him. Amazing stuff. I will be playing this for a while. Definitely a winner. I will finish this because I want to know what happens to the poor Samosians. Thanks for making this game! |

I have been playing for a couple of weeks now, and this game is fantastic!
5/5 The graphics were nicely made, and very detailed. 4.5/5 The music was repetitive, and it got on my nerves some. But it sounded nice. 4.5/5 The gameplay was excellent. I did not like the way you talk to NPC's, and it was a very difficult game. If you could add an add an easy mode, that would be nice.(hint hint) total 4.67/5 I have been having some trouble with the lighthouse (in chapter two), specifically the floor with the three moving guards, the two standing guards, and the conveyor with the coffee on it. Any hints would be appreciated. Thanks for the great game Srehpog! -Alexw. |

Update: v18.11.2009
A couple of fixes as well as miscellaneous mini-changes since the last official version almost 2 years ago... thanks to everyone still playing this, your feedback is, as ever, invaluable. -In chapter 7, the guy who sells bombs in the building a screen north of NSV offers to sell you 5 bombs for... I believe it was 195 credits. I purchased this, but actually got 10 -There was a little typo - "hol" where it should have been "hold" I think - in your personal records, entry number 3 or 4 I believe - I can't remember for sure where. Fixed. Well spotted. News: Ark 22 is now brought to you by HiVE, so you can keep track of any updates, media and extra content there. This is probably the last ever update (despite me saying that about 20 times by now, but still). Also, new game!. Umbrella Adventure - The Castle of Cake - if you liked Ark 22, you'll love this. Don't be put off by the 40Mb filesize, there's a lot of content. Honest. Thanks everyone! ![]() |
