4. No, not at all. It might be this weekend, or it might be in weeks. I'll let everyone know when it is, though.

It is already up at Reloaded.org at this moment! Thanks again, Srehpog!

Link: http://www.reloaded.org/download/Ark-22/220/

The walkthrough, however, is not in the review. Anybody knows the link to the latest walkthrough?

First, I need to add my voice to everyone else who's commented on what a well-made and thoughtful game Ark 22 is. The fact that Srehpog has put so much time into a game and then made it available for free is remarkable!

And now, my whine: I'm stuck! I'm in the dungeon in Chapter 3. I've killed all the big bats in the room with five doors, but three of the doors are still blocked by blue force fields. I can also get to a room on the other side of the entrance hall, in which there is a "ghost" who looks like me, who disappears when I approach him. This room is partitioned into two areas, but I can't access the other area (again, blocked by a force field, but this one looks different from the ones in the other room - it's got a red dot in the middle).

Since no one else has mentioned being stuck here, I feel like I should be able to get past this, but no luck so far. I've tried all I can think of, and don't *think* I've missed picking up any needed items (although I never did figure out why I heard the sound of grinding rock (a door opening?) at the end of the dungeon in Chapter 2).

If you can share a good hint, I'll cook a lasagna in your honor...

that was good and i wish i could have played it longer becasue a game liek that deserved WAY more attention then i gave it. i applaud you for explaning why you find random boxes of ammo scattered on the ground and thigns like that. i loved looking at every little insignificant thing cuz i will never have the intention span to make like.. a cup... it does nothing but its pretty... and theres alot othings liek that.. any way maybe i wil comeback and play i when im ready for a lngo gaem i dunno but my rating so far is

gameplay- 8/10
sound/music-i didnt like the music for the village that was annoying but the sounds for the chest were politle and appropriate 7/10
story- i can tell it will have a good story and liek i said you explianed random things in other gae that ake no sence "who leaves shotgun ammo on the ground in a box?" 9/10
overall: 8/10 good job im sure i will see hear this name again

I'll be happy to help!

For the thing where the "ghost" appears, just walk onto the platform and press enter, say yes to the next question, and you'll teleport to a new erea.

NOTE: You get the S.A.T. bracelet (the teleporting device) in this dungeon, there are some platforms (That look like the one with the ghost) that you will need the
S.A.T bracelet to teleport on.

Hope this helps

Thanks to goldensun's hint a couple of days ago, I managed to zip through Chapter 3. I'm very happy with the story development -- there's more "meat" to the plot than I expected.

But now I'm stuck again! I'm fighting the Pyramid boss, and nothing I do seems to damage him. I can live indefinitely by picking up health & ammo from those handy little bugs, but the boss seems immune to everything I do (including the rifle upgrade I got by finding all the crystals).

If you have a hint, tonight's dinner (baked salmon with lemon and garlic) is dedicated to you! Thanks...

OK, I've noticed I sometimes get the "schwing!" noise that indicates I've damaged the enemy. When that happens, Mr. Pyramid freezes for a second, and I can pick off one of the glowing balls that surrounds him. Unfortunately, this happens very rarely, and I haven't been able to figure out what I'm doing to cause it. The upshot is, I'm usually half dead before it happens even once, let alone six times. What am I missing here?

Or is it something so obvious I'll feel like a chump if you tell me?

When it makes a screeching sound and the glowing ball starts growing steadily, you hit the switch to change the power on/off, if done correctly, three little balls will appear and you can hit one of them. you must do this for both power on and power off (because there's six little balls in total). don't feel stupid, i found it out on accident.

Anyway, on to what i think of the game... amazing, the best GM game ive ever played. The difficulty was high, just high enough, although the pyramid dungeon was waaaaay too easy. The only time i ever had to think was at the very beggining, other then that i zipped through it. that however, is my only complaint. i give it 9/10, becuase no game can ever be perfect, although this one comes close.

on another note, does anyone know where the fossil in the lower left corner of the museum is? ive looked everywhere and i can't find it

Although you're already past this point, that's supposed to be the sound of the waterway entrance opening similar to how the area you were in at the time was opened by sinking rocks on the lake. Just so you know...

Hmm. I've been getting quite a few words here and there saying that the 'physical' difficulty (i.e. health and credits and so on) is too lenient - does anyone else find this? I could very easily halve or further reduce the rate of item spawning if too many players are finding they never die - although at the very beginning I seem to remember everyone dying. Maybe I changed something... So, should it be harder to stay alive? If you can survive indefinitely during Dungeon 4's boss battle, that's a bad sign...

Ah, it would appear I've hidden this one too well. Not only are you not the first person to be stumped by it, I had to look at the source code in the room where it's supposed to appear to confirm it was really there. I won't be too obvious with it, but... try the second dungeon. The one with the moving player statue and stone eyeball boss...

Question:

Does the game need to be harder?

I don't know if I posted earlier in this topic (27 pages, don't want to look), but this is the best game made with GM. The only two games that I gave a 10/10 are Soul Fighter (J-Factor) and Seiklus (don't know his name) and now this game is with them.

10/10

No Srehpog, I don't believe the game needs to be harder. For one, there are many classic RPG's that are really quite a bit easier than this (take, as was mentioned earlier, the Final Fantasy series as a whole, for an example). Also, the game is long and pretty epic, which means that the player needs to spend a lot of time and effort to beat it anyways.

DragonRC: this most certainly is an RPG, compare with Zelda?

TCGamer: Seiklus was made by cly5m (aka "tapeworm"), see http://autofish.net
