I'm glad you all like it, although nobody seems to be getting past dungeon 3.... too hard?

Hmm, kinda found a bug there.
In some dungeon (the one where you think it's the very last intent) when you get to the boss (the big bat) the door closes, but when I fell in one of the black holes, I respawned in the closed door, so I couldn't move, but I didn't quit, considering I still had the chance to kill him I just stood there, shooting at him. But eventually my health got to zero, but I didn't die, I got immortal, so after a long time I killed the boss and I kept my immortallity, and it never got away. Quite a handy bug |

QUOTE (Srehpog @ Oct 13 2005, 09:17 AM) Yeah I finished Dungeon 3. A little bit buggy in some rooms. e.g In the radio room the only way to leave it is with the SAT bracelet and when I go back to the commanders room in the NW village the game suddenly quits on me. Yes, the NPC in there throws up an error which quits the game. There's nothing important in there, so you didn't miss anything. Having any trouble finding dngeon 4? Review:
Graphics: 1,000,000,000,000,000/10 The graphics were spectacular. What is up with those files? Notepad errors on me. What are their structure? Sound and Music: 9/10 Nothing to say here. Difficulty: 9/10 Not too easy, not too hard. The only problem was that the pattern puzzles were a little hard Gameplay: *faints*/10 Great game. Not many bugs. Replay Value: ?/10 I don't know as I haven't beat it yet! Overall: 9,999,999,999,999,999/10 Best game I've seen for ages. "Best GM game ever", only competed by Hard Hat 3 by Damaged. Comparisions with Wubly are, this time, not possible. |

QUOTE (Srehpog @ Oct 14 2005, 08:30 AM) Can you remember if you remained transparent, or just invincible? That would help. No, I wasn't transparant, but when I opened the save file, with notepad, I saw that the second value (I believe that's health) was -3.0000000E002 or something like that, so my health was minus... but I changed it to 1.000 etc, and my health is back to normal now, but still, it's quite strange Anyway, I had the same bug as Agent_48 in the radio room, and the error_log showed me this: CODE COMPILATION ERROR in string to be executed Error in code at line 1: if place_meeting(x,y,player) && keyboard_check(vk_enter){sound_play(talk);if global.gamestate<4.01 global.gamestate=4.01;show_message('Oh, you must be '+string(global.playername)+'. The Commander is currently away, I'm afraid.')} at position 218: Symbol , or ) expected. That shouldn't be to hard to fix, should it? Any tips on what to do next? I really wanna finish the game! |

That's already fixed. It's my habit of always giving NPCs sentences with apostrophes in, even within ' '. After dungeon 3, you should automatically have some idea of where to go. If you've already watched the radio-room cutscene, it should be even clearer.
Press P and select 'Directive', or if you're really stuck....go West again. As for negative health, that should be impossible. Player's death event is the automatic 'no more health' command, so it should kill you no matter how far down health goes. A very odd bug.... |

AWESOME GAME
question though, how do you beat the water boss that has the shield around him? I was thinking that was the area that opened after the second dungeon, but maybe i'm wrong...anyway, great game. |

I heavily apologise for this, but it appears the game itself fails to manage a particular variable properly. However!, there is a way. IF you have watched the radio room cutscene, open your save file in Notepad and edit the very first line.
Change 4.100000...etc to 5.00000...etc. That isn't the sort of variable which gets you anything good if you increase/decrease it, in fact it will most likely mess things up. This post has been edited by Srehpog: Oct 15 2005, 07:49 PM |

I can definitely tell the effort and energy you put into this.
Pros: Good graphics. Easy to get into - hard to put down. Great learning curve. Amazing, totally epic story-line. Good music No lag Cons: Annoying collision detection Show message text boxes? With a game of this caliber, you could do better! Repetitive sound (title theme carries over to the main space ship). Too...addictive............ Also, I don't think you did a great job of hiding those music files I really do enjoy playing this though. Basically - my opinion is that this game is really really great, but it lacks the polish so many GM games desperately need. Other than that, I have pretty much no complaints on this stellar game, and I know how hard you worked on it from ZFGC. My numbers may not mean anything to you, but overall: 8/10 And that is VERY GOOD. I wouldn't rate most GM games in the game creations section over a 4. I mean this is a game I'd actually play if I found it on the internet - I'd download it and play it, even if it weren't made with GM. This is what I love about this game - the way it pulls you into the story line. I especially liked how you implemented naming the character into the storyline. Good luck - not like you need it very much, especially considering you have 8 pages of replies. I agree with Jodder very much. Thanks for being so polite to everyone. Your attitude towards making your game, as well as towards the people playing it, has payed off. This post has been edited by scooternew: Oct 15 2005, 08:29 PM |

A new error:
ERROR in action number 1 of Create Event for object status_control: Error in code at line 63: if dx=-1000 int=0 else int=1 at position 5: Unknown variable dx Fix this. Each time right around the time I'm supposed to get the first sword in new samosa, the game suddenly crashes and ends. And then I have to restart from the beginning. |

QUOTE (scooternew @ Oct 15 2005, 11:51 PM) Fix this. Each time right around the time I'm supposed to get the first sword in new samosa, the game suddenly crashes and ends. And then I have to restart from the beginning. This happens when you press P to pause. right? Get everything you need from NSV, until you're allowed to leave North, through the gate. Once outside, you should be able to pause without the game crashing. If this is so, save your game, and that bug will never bother you again. I have fixed it, but being on a restricted network, can't upload any files. There's a bug list and instructions on how to avoid/remedy them in the very first post. QUOTE how do i get past the sliding block puzzle? There are several, but I assume you mean the very first one. Try using the tiles in this order: right-hand, upper, lower, left-hand. I think.... |
