Graphics Forum Rules and Guidelines

Like the forum description says, this forum is for discussions about finding and making sprites, backgrounds, videos, and other artwork for your GM games. In the Graphics forum, you may:

  • Request artwork for your GM games only
  • Offer your artwork to other members
  • Post questions about art techniques
  • Ask for suggestions to improve your graphics
  • Post links to tutorials you made
Check the Graphics Resources List for commercial and free graphic programs or image resources.

Forum Rules

  • By posting your artwork here, you agree that other members may use it in their own games.
  • Posted images must be under 800x600 pixels, and under 100 kB file size per image. You may include up to 5 images per post.
  • Do not post artwork just to get compliments. But you may ask for specific advice on technique, or ways to improve it.
  • Do not post, or request, copyrighted images.
  • Do not make more than one topic for the same project or to offer the same service.
  • No avatar, signature image, or web banner requests or offerings.
  • Competitions are NOT allowed.

Topic Posting Guidelines

Please try to provide as much information as possible on what you need. This includes:

  • Image description
  • Size in pixels (width and height)
  • Image format (JPG, BMP, PNG, GIF...)
  • 2D or 3D image or a 3D model
  • Facing direction or pose
  • Style (provide a link to a similar image with the style you want)
  • Whether the image needs to be animated
  • Whether the artist will be paid
  • If available, a link to your game
Following these guidelines makes it easier for artists to understand your needs, and decide whether to help you.

Finally, before asking where you can find a program, be sure to check the Graphics Resources List, you may find the program you need there. Only post requests for links to programs if you didn't find what you are looking for.
