I started work on this today. It is a GMP Designer Game Maker Platformer Designer. It will be a program used for creating your own platform games easily! Right now, all you can do is add a character, choose between three background, add walls then test. I will eventually add the option to add a bunch of different looking characters, walls, multiple levels, more backgrounds, enemies! I have a download here

ashiva99: Awsome! This is a great designer!
benger: This one pretty good too.
E-magination: This will be bad,now every n00b can create good platformers....
HaRRiKiRi: This is cool, keep up the good work.
shadowdog: this is a good start keep making this and it will be really nice
jamiet138: Platform games may be easy anyway, but it doesn't hurt to make it easier. My first game was a platformer, so somebody just starting out will find this helpful.
scorpius: i think its would be graet
Alex Muncatchy: I like the idea for this, very interesting, can't wait to see it done!!!

Awsome! This is a great designer! For more features, make it almost as good as Game Maker itself. Add a snapgrid that can be toggled and edited. Also make a library of objects besides characters and walls, like water, lava, enemies, and even more platformer items. This will turn out great if you keep developing it!

This is trash.
No one needs a platform game maker made by gamemaker.
Its so easy to make simple platform games.
With a perfect platform engine this could have been interesting.
But you didnt even add an acceptable jumping.
Its so bugged.

ps: can i have the editable i want to make a platformgamedesignerdesigningplatformbuilderdesign
maker with it.

Your are so wired. Why you even use GM??? For example, who need a paint programm made in GM if you could make one in C++? And how can you say 'No one' if you are speaking for your self??

It's not thrash, but I don't think it's good,

First, your jump is... [Insert word that canot being said in the forum],

You should change it NOW!!! Secondly, I don't think that'll be a success, because if you are on this forum, you must work with game maker, and, because everybody that will see your game will use Game maker, who need a platformer editor?

If you could improve the number of thing you can edit, like, the gravity, the speed, the ennemies health, weapons, etc and that the player could just take a sprite and put it in the game, it would be good.

Well for one, I have friends who can't understand GM for crap. They AREN'T on GMC forums. Secondly, instead of telling me how bad the jumping system is why don't you tell me what's so bad about it. It looks fine to me.

Thanks.
I updated the code for creating stuff, seeing as it was getting sloppy. I am going to put in an enemy, different block styles, lives, and saving for this version. Seeing as MOST people want to see an update, I'll be working on it and it will be done by tommorrow I promise you!

I would recomend putting in a function for importing graphics, so the person who uses it can choose their own stuff, instead of preloaded ones. You should do that for other resources too.

Good idea, I might implement that in future versions. After I get multiple levels and predone stuff done.

The jump is un-natural, the character seems like using any psychic forces or use a spaceship propulsor to elevate in the sky...

Anyway, friends/Parents/etc aren't conted in the number of person which will have fun uding since they ARE NOT ON THE BOARD. It's just natural that you show them your game...

PS, tp Gabry maybe look at some posts. Most people to seem to think this is a great. Except for maybe you and another 2 people only u and one other person don't like the jumping. A lot of people say they would use it or it would be good to new users. This might also be fun if you don't want to code and just make something quick.

Edit: I also fixed a camera bug.
