Current Version: 3.1 - Written by Rhys Andrews

The GameCave Effects Engine has been one of the most popular engines (and the original) around the GMC for 3 years now. It started with just a few effects, including rain and explosions - and is now a large library of visual effects, tutorials, and other resources designed to help you and your graphical side of game design. Finally, on the 14th of January, 2007, GameCave Effects Engine 3 has been released, unleashing another line of updates with new features. These features include a fully documented and commented system for all effects, and PDF tutorials on visual effect features such as particles and alpha masking. All effects have been re-written and optimized, with some old useless ones removed, and new ones added.

Can you make it .exe because somehow my gamemaker doesn't support all patricle things like depth and blend. Want to try it because all your other things were good.

Why thankyou Game_Genius! I don't really see how it's that amazing, but thankyou anyway.

pinguinpanic, make sure you are
1) registered
2) using 6.1
6.1 made major changes to the particle systems.

Interesting effects. I liked the cloud one a lot.
The explosion slows down so much after about three explosions are present.
The blood effects are kinda... strange. The chunks should have a red outline instead of a gray one. Unless that's brain matter wink1.gif (sorry for being gross right there). I changed the dark-grey outline to a dark red and it looks a lot better.
The clouds were pretty. Very well done there.

Overall, a good example. The clouds could make lots of games look better. In fact, I might use those myself if I ever need them.

EDIT: Somehow, I always spell "cloud" like "could" laugh.gif

Particles could be done with 6.0, But they were nowhere near as good quality at those in 6.1. For the games i created and creating, the blood's outline became dark red. However, i keep forgetting to change it in this one. I will for the next version. I must warn you, the clouds can much down quite a bit of FPS when you start putting objects in and making it an actual level; To change that just change the size of the cloud. It still looks good wink1.gif

Thanks for reviewing!

Wow, that cloud effect is great. I might just use it in one of my games.
It is a little slow, though. It dropped from 60 to 30 fps once the clouds started showing up a lot.

Of course; And about the clouds; Making the size of the particles smaller makes a large FPS difference, and still looks good.

The gore looked good in my other games.. Oh well; thanks for your reviews.

Please, all stop complaining about it being 6.1. I couldn't have possibly done those particle effects in 6.0.
