Pixel War Online Updates (Pixel War info below this.)
Hi All! Long time no update huh? Well things have been moving lately, though only on weekends.. but a lot of the boring stuff is being taken care of and PWO is taking some real shape. You can actually sign up to be a beta tester now-- and we have an awesome website, made by the most recent addition to the team, Braxton!

PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING ABOUT PIXEL WAR ONLINE:

I would like to ask if we could move the pwo topic over to http://www.pixelwaronline.com/forum/ for the simple reason that this forum is dedicated towards pwo with different threads and topics all on pwo.

-braxton

p.s. - If you have any ideas on how pwo can be improved please go to our forum and post, thanks.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Pixel War is an addicting little game where you fly around in a pixel-size space ship protecting (along with the rest of your home planet's fleet) your solar system. Your only weapons are lasers, homming missiles, and your trigger finger. Can you stop the tiny pixel-sized invasion fleet from conquering the solar system?

Pixel War has won The Game Maker Awards 2005 under the category of "The Best Game with the most Original Idea!!"

New Version
Pixel War 1.46

>>Changes from old version<<
-AI much better, actually quite hard, and computer-controlled ships almost never run into planets.
-Fixed a pretty unknown bug that allowed the human ships to overwhelm the alien fleet (now they are just as good as the aliens)
-Others? I've forgotten what I fixed ;)

Old Versions:
Pixel War 1.45
1.3
http://host-a.net/ge.....elWar 1.2.zip
http://www.creativei.....pixel war.zip

Game pad support is included but the controls are a bit harder.

Its fun. Its annoying you get sent back to the menu everytime you die though ;)

I really like this. It's incredibly simple, presentation-wise, but it's fun and addictive. And hard as nails, too.

The only thing I don't like is the mouse selection on the main menu. Since the game is being played with both hands on the keyboard, it's kind've jarring for the play to have to swap to an alternate control method just to start playing again.

Thanks for all of the comments! Sorry i forgot to add the download link and thanks to squeaky14 for finding it and saving this post ;). I have really wanted to make this multiplayer and would love to do so in the future but first I need to figure out how to use the multiplayer options or recruit some one who knows how to code them.

I'll think about the menu and see how I can change it to make it more user friendly :)

EDIT: oh btw, all-fly, it used to be a lot harder ;)

I found it really easy, I played twice and won twice. Using missiles & shift key help a lot.
The graphics are cool, the gameplay is pretty cool. I like how you can tell which way you're going even though the ship is always a square.

My only complaint is that it's hard to aim because everything is so small. All my kills were either hits with the missile or accidental hits with the red shots (or I'd turn around into a group of enemies and just happen to get one).

It would be great if you could choose how many aliens you want.

Why is everything in the main menu jumbled together? I can't select what I want to. And the selection is screwy, you can click something but nothing will happen.

I somehow get the game to start and have no idea what to do ._.

I really don't feel like fighting with a menu just to get a game to start...

As I said before, I am working on making the menu more user friendly. It will be totally redone.

I will put this is the help file in the updated version, but you do not aim the bullets. when you are near an alien, (about 200 pixels away) the bullets are aimed for you. That way you don't have to worry about aiming to hit another pixel.

I will also probably make an option to set how many human/alien ships there are.

oh and btw, Trizamplified, reading the help file usually helps when you don't know what to do <_<

It's so prettyful!! It might be nice if you could add a little radar, when there only a couple of Aliens left it can be hard to find them.
