First of all, hiyall! I joined this fine community that has suprised me several times by it's fantastic creations, and how helpfull have ppl are. I was submitting too couple of my creations and demos, but they didn't get much of attention. That's fine by me, but still, I left here some time ago and decided to concentrate on my artistic needs, you can see my gallery on deviantART here at http://jlankinen.deviantart.com/

Here's couple of my deviations:
"Evil Dead skull" - Drawing
"Foggy circles -ILLUSION" - an illusion I made based on my personal studies on the subject
"Help me" - 3D wallpaper
"Ipod" - a 3D work
"My triballic mind -MD" - a circular tribal work (wallpaper)

But that's for that, now I'm studying on my first year in the gaming business at the vocational school, and boy it's more complex to create large-sized (or even small ones) game projects (mostly 3D) than I thought. The choise of different job-sectors is quite versatile, and we are trained for all of them. But most of all I like texturizing things.

--------------------------------------------------- -----------------------------

But on the subject, most of these games I've keep on myself, cause I didn't thought they'd be good enough, but recently I've showed them to couple of my friends, and they've liked them, so I decided to give it a go:

Almost all of these game has Info (F1 or "i"), read it first please so you'll get to know the controls and possibilities of the game.

Dart Game: (FULL) (my second game ever) (2002 i guess)
It's a simple game from the time Gamemaker was on it's 3 version. Yes, it's simple, but in it's own way and I think it's worth of trying (be warned, I'll say this often on this post :), but only beacuse I want some opinions on them).

Wormgame: (FULL)

Just like old wormgames, eating apples, but this one has more. there are enemies that can eat you or you can eat them after you kill'em with your poison bullets, you can even drop little eggs, where breaks out little, short lifed snakes, your little helpers. Also there is mapmaker and twoplayer-splitscreen mode. Try it, it's different.

Arrow: (FULL)
This game I published long, long time ago and it got even reviewed on some polish gaming site, but I couldn't understood what the article said ;). It's a puzzle like flying game with many machines that affect your flying arrow different ways, like "shrinker", "gravity changer", "color changer", "speed increaser and stopper" and some more, try it, it's worth it.

Public wars: (FULL)
My first top-down shooter with 3-player support in one screen. There is also puzzle like singleplayer mode, where you must shoot targets with different weapons(limited ammos), in different places, and sometimes among civilians. It was fun to create these "shooting range" -style levels that needs a little strategic usage of weapons available. -"Definitely worth of trying", my friend said. But still, for some reason I didn't pulished it...

Turret Defence:
(FULL)
A mouse controlled turret defencing game with four different modes. Funny, when I got this finished and was going to submit it here, somebody had done almost exactly the same game (even with the same name), and so I decided not to submit... :)

Turret Retro turbo:
(FULL)
The more versatile version of turret defence, and for it I studied to do some arcade gaming, like "wave levels". Maybe my most finished game, with different modes to play after you get trough the "special" turret training, this game is more for a Hiscoring and stuff, but it's a working one. Tho there is no music and the sounds (uncheckable) are bit annoying, but it's worth of trying, I had lots of fun with my friends with this one. And I've published it here, but nobody noticed :), check the topic.

Turret Retro turbo 2: (DEMO)
More flashy version of the above, with more weapon-, shield -and addition types, but when I tried to create different modes for it, I got bored. At the time I was working on a huge labyrinth mode (with cordination map, room size about 8000x8000 or something) for this game, and it worked, but making the content for it was too hard, so it's now a demo without the mode. But it's still on the "to do" list, so I might someday continue it, as the mighty GM7 is out. This "demo" has also been published here and got the same story as above one, so check the topic if you want.

Vapour City: (on-going project)
My largest game project ever on Gamemaker, these are older versions of it, but shows where it's going, I've been making many customizing applications for this game, for example, civilian dialogue maker, mapmaker and player and car customizers, but some of these are on their alpha version. So far I've done unique mouse driving controls for cars, somewhat working lightsystem, working slot engine (item slots), appearance randomize system (for cars and ppl) and some more, but now I'm working on this from time to time, when I have time and inspiration for it.

My tries on innovative creating:

Sotaa!:
(project)
An attempt to try a little sidescroll war in Click and point -style, the effects are nice, and the enemys AI is really hard, try it you'll be having long fights with this one. In this version there's only one unit, tank, but in my recent version of it there's also a missilevechile and structures to smash down.

Marbleclimb: (only screens)
This one based on stagejumping with gravity change, you could decide on wich wall to roll, and a jumping sequence, where you try to jump away from the rising water. The marble was breakable, when you take too hard hit on the surface, the marble breaks a little until it gets completely shattered. Similar like add-ons like in arrow, but it got out of the "to do" list cause of too needy coding and level designing, althought if I'd be more patient, this could've been smashing game, and I might someday continue with this idea, just for knowing I made something different.

PacmanX: (only screens)
Was gonna be more innovative version of the original pacman, it had stuff like realtime rendering mapmaker, bouncing snackballs(those yellow things), pac-cannon like on the screenshots, and many more. But this one stopped cause I didn't get the AI of enemies to work properly.

------------------
Spaceventure: (only screens)
This game uses map-files to create infinite space around the space ship. the idea was to move the background and all things around the player, not the player itself. the room was only 500x500 large, but the space to move was infinite. And the game read the map file to coordinate the planets, enemies, stars and asteroidfields to certain places. But this project collapsed on the mission planning.

And many, many more...

You can also download all the games in one zip packet (20mb) so you don't have to click, click, click: http://www.mediafire.com/?4ydtxztgyq9

Yes, I know these aren't the best games out there, and there are propably much more creative ppl than me, but what I wanted to do with every game I tried to create and got finished, was to make something differently, more interestingly, and of course not always I achieved this goal, but it's your opinion of whats new and whats not, so if you like even one game on my list plz tell me, and tell the others, I hungry for comments, but never got one to eat. And also I submitted these for the reason to give others some ideas for their games, so enjoy and try! :)
