Well, after many weeks of hard work, the Sandbox of God is finally complete.

NOTE: due to the jpeg compression, the following screenshot is a bit blurry:

You can find it at my website:
www.vertigogaming.net
EDIT: If site is down, try this:

Thanks!

NOTE: I just released the editible file of the Sandbox of God on my website. However, if were a forum member, you would have gotten it a month ago :)

What is the Sandbox of God?
The Sandbox of god is a puzzle at heart, where every decision you make affects your outcome in the end. You take control of a planet, and progress thru the eras from 1,000,000 BC thru 2100 AD.

You are given different powers each era, but can use each godly power only once. So say I use the rain function. Then I make a comet hit the earth. The ground, being mushy, allows the comet to get stuck in the ground and become a mountain.

BUT if I use the comet function first, the comet will leave a big crator. THEN by using a rain function, I can fill the hole with water, making a lake.

This is only the tip of the iceburg...once you finish the game, your taken to a checklist and shown how much you've done, and what you have left to create.

I hope you enjoy this very unique game...and as always, post any comments you might have! This version is bug-free, thanks to the guys who got it last week in my forums. Even if there are any bugs, the save system allows you to change any future versions without losing your save file. Cool, eh?

This is the full version, btw. Enjoy!!!

w00t! You finished it! :D

I'm gonna edit with a very, VERY good review. :P

EDIT: Man, do I suck at this! :o
I kept being all evil and ended up as:
9. Steve, god of accounts payable and receiving.

Great game you got there!
Very original, with original sprites and cool music.

That means two thumbs for me!

10+ :)

Looks awesome! I'll edit when finished.

EDIT: All I can say is... wow. Fantastic! I love the graphics and the particles. One question though, how do you get rabbits to get smarter?

You about made me cry...

I started a game like this, and I thought yours would be like mine...so I quickly hurried and posted in the WIP. But thankfully, its not like ur god game.

Nice game though :)

Darn, I wanted to be first :).

Before I get too far into the review, I would like to say that I am honored to be able to play this game that is a brilliant idol that all game creators should mimic.

In this game you're god. Not just any god, but the god. You make all decisions involving the land and its inhabitants. However, the order you make these decisions in will greatly differ the outcome. For instance, if I were to use the rain function, and then use the meteor function, the ground would be soggy enough for the meteor to stick. But if you hailed a meteor first, it would merely bounce of the ground, creating a crater. That example is as simple as it gets, and most of the game is far more complex. Your actions will have consequences far in the future, and you'll have to plan accordingly.

Wait, a Game Maker game that you have to plan? A game that you have to think? Yes, you do have to plot out all of your thoughts to be successful in this game. Not only that, but there's multiple ways to be successful. And with that the replay value rises enormously. It is a gargantuan challenge to achieve 100%, but it has to be one of the most rewarding too. This game is truly a benchmark in design.

The Gameplay is not the only attribute that shines in this game, how the game is presented is also fantastic. The graphics have their own style and nearly all of them fit perfectly together. Some graphics may need minor tweaks, but for the most part they are easy on the eyes, which is exactly how they should be.

The music and sound is fairly decent. The tracks aren't particularly memorable, but they do flow with the game well. I have no complaints here.

The only issue I had was that the text for the IQ levels could stick out a bit more, but they still perform their purpose admiralty.

This has to be one of my favorite games (notice there is no "Game Maker" in front of that) of all times. I highly recommend that you add this unquestionably worthy title to your collection.

Also, LOS won't be in the Cage Match for long after this :)

Pure awesomeness.

It's your second best game yet (I personally still like ECHC2 more) and one of the best (if not best) simulation games I've seen in a while, and not just ones made with GM, it ranks up there with the best of the best, such as The Sims 2 and others along those lines. Great game Chubsie, I'll give it a 9/10.

I've waited for this game for a long time. :3 I'll edit with comments when I finish playing.

Wow this game is great, even though I intensely suck at it >.< (Highest rank was 8) I'm about 70% complete i think.

I'm gonna be playing this game for a long time. I want to see a nuclear strike :) And some uber smart bunnies! :o :)

This is a very challenging game, takes alot of thinking and experimenting.

ok. now for my review.

good things:(2pts)
It was difficult
the graphics were ridiculous, but fit in oddly....
the replay ability. It's higher than that of most commercial games
The gameplay. action and stradegy.

(How is it action? No clue.)

badd things:(-1pt)
dissapointingly, the game is a little boring. But maybe I couldn't launch a catapult?

average things:(1pt)
the main menu:
it looks great, but the mouse effect makes it hard to start the game.

overall a 4/5

Edit:Wow. That's awesome. The music was great. The idea was great. Too bad I can't figure out how to get my rabbits to learn. Oh well, I'll work it out sooner or later. :)

I love games like these, downloading now. The idea of the game reminds me of Actraiser (1 not 2, since 2 was crappy) for SNES. Can't wait to play this!

Yes. The others are pressing J during the game to get a song cut from the final mix, and clicking on something in game that youve created...

I'm very impressed.

I'll write up a review for this for GMG tonight, and it should be up within the week. I'll post a link when it is.
