About the game:

I started this game when GM7 beta 2 was released....
Yes, I know that it is unprofessional to make a game with a beta version ^^;
Well...because I used GM7 beta I couldnt work on it for sime time...as you may know, GM7 beta expired over time ^^;

But now, that GM7 Final is out, I can work on it again.

Here is the first result.

Please remember:

You are playing a BETA (Engine Test)

I will change stuff later and will reset the accounts!

Controls:


Arrow Keys (Up, Down, Left, Right)

In the Options Menu you can change the games resoultion, fullscreen and music and soundeffect volume (yay, lets make this user-friendly :D )


This version contains:

16 maps
Custom Sprites
Custom Backgrounds

The music was NOT made by me.
I will search for the people who did those and give full credit.

Special Thanks goes to:

Fox-NL - For his FoxEngine2 and especially for the "jump-through-slopes" example he made for me!

beta 3a - Right Click -> Save target as...

Quick Instructions:

Once you started the game click on "New Account" to create a ...new account :P
Now you are ready to use the LOGIN option.
Enter you nick and PW and click the slime.

Have fun!


You will miss some major gameplay fun-factors.
This is mainly a test to check fo a stable connection.
Enemys and other gameplay elements will be added later.

YOU CAN ONLY CONNECT WHEN I RUN THE SERVER!!!

-Loose points when login out on maps that are NOT a save area

This game is nice! It reminds me of one my favorite games; Wizards And Warriors: Iron Sword 2! The cloud world did. I did find a bug there, though. I got myself on top of the invisible blocks, and i fell off the side, and then i fell forever.

Anyway, i will play this later. I have a menu to make.

WOW!!
I have seen a trailer for this somewhere and now I am playing it...well :D it is freaking amazing!!

Add chatting into it now!!! I was getting messages from the server and would love to reply to them haha

Hey, cute game! I like the gfx. Maybe you could improve them by doing a little bit of dithering? Apart from that good job!

Heh.

I really like this game. I have a feeling that this will become big in the future. I liked the sprites and the effects but I really liked the music. I know that you didn't make the music but it still seems to fit the game.

Oh, one other thing, add chat so that I can brag to the other players. :D

Users who got the old version allready will need to download the patch to update their versions.

New users can download the latest version.

I fixed all known bugs in this version!

I also had to delete 4 accounts, sorry about that.

how will be the battle system, if any?
will this be a coop game, or a everyone for itself game? :D

how the hell do you make a platform game online.
i'm a experienced GM user.

but if I make platform games online, they're so damn laggy. could you help me out with this later?

Well, the secret is that this online platformer doesnt need to store and send all x,y,sprite_index and such...that would make it laggy...

You actually dont see other players...like I wrote above (but nobody reads that)

Everythign else are just the platform basics :D

Im not 100% sure about the battle system...but there will be a battle system :rambo

I think the name "Slime Online" implies something very different from what you're working on... Basically, you've got a regular platform game with an online high score table.

Since there are only a limited number of slime points any one user can get, how do you plan on making it so that every player doesn't end up with the same high score?

i actually did read the text above, but i forgot that part.

yes, you can't see the other players but the handlings the players do are being transfered over internet to your version of the game, right?

New bugs appeared:

-On the dark cloud map dont walk out of the room LEFT!
-On the tree map, dont walk out of the room RIGHT!

Well, the name might lead people to think they will get something different, that is true.
Right now the online functions are limited, but I got some nices suprises in my back hand and will use much more online functions soon ^^
The Online-Highscore will not be main focus but will also used more later on. For example, the guy who has the highest score will get some benefits....like, style the Slime Towns Banners and such ^-^

About the points, well, they are re-created each time yu login, basicly there are unlimited points.
This migh sound like "Wow, easy points...login...grab points, logout, repeat!"
but I will make some changes with that system.
Some maps will become "Save Maps" you can save on those for free, all other maps will be maps that you will have to "pay" about 250-500 points to save and you will be moved to the nearest "Save Map" when login again.

Later on you can also use those points to buy stuff.
For example you can buy a graffiti-spray later.
You can then use it on a wall in the town and spray a message on that wall.
Everybody else can also read it then...

Heh, if I think the title of your game is misleading, how does that make me negative? That's just a simple observation.

Besides, I think it's better that you clarify this stuff for people who play the game.

You can't probably do alot yet because it is a Beta..?
and as the title says: ENGINE beta...so actuallyit's just the testing of the engine..or am i wrong..? :D
