GLAY BEATout!

File Size: (6.3mb)
GM Version: (GM6)
Changes Screen Resolution: (no)

SCREENSHOTS

Posted Image Posted Image Posted Image

This a fighting game based on the members of the Japanese band, GLAY.
The moves, backgrounds, the title, and of course the music are based on their career.
Fighting is pretty fast paced, and has some unique features.

COMPLETED

*polished game engine
*2 player mode
*1 character: Jiro
*1 background

What is done is very complete and playable. Don't forget to read through the manual for the move list and more info. No joystick support yet, but you can customize the controls.

ENTER and SPACE are always player1 and player2 start.

WARNING: The game consumes a hefty amount of ram(for a GM game, that is). Your system should have at least 512mb of ram, and more is required to run it smooth. This is because of the large amount of gifs, loaded at one time.

Well it does indeed consume a lot of memory, but it's very good. Loved all the moves, well done! Hope to see this finished some day.

To give the other readers a sort of idea of what sys specs you need, this is what i got:
AMD Athlon 64 3500+
512MB DDR RAM
ATI RADEON X1300 HM 512MB
And it lags slightly. Biggest lag is when the game just starts, while fighting there's barely any lag.

VERY NICE!!! There is one frame in a sprite to where the transparency is messed up. Other than that, I love the engine. Honestly, the best fighting engine I have seen in a while!

Woooo nice graphics. The gameplay is good but there is not much diffrenc in the damages to the attacks. This game would be much better with some AI. You should give both players 100% hp in the secund round not only to the 1 who lost the first round. The grupis attack is very fun feature.

Gfx 10/10
Gameplay 9/10
Sound 6/10

Great critique! I agree abt making the damages look different. I will definatly work on that and AI, in the next release. Although, the reason I didnt have the power bar recharge is to make more use of the heal ability. Hmmm...either way really.

Very nice! Great 3D models. It does run a bit slow, but it's really good. 10/10.

Thanks! the model took the least time, compared to rendering all its animations! I just wish I realized I could have antialiased them, while keeping the clean edges. They look kinda pixely.
