Ah, I see. Good suggestions. Thanks a lot for the excellent feedback, mr Woof!
Okay, so I updated the game and made it so that the squid boss is easier if you are the attractor. I don't want it so that no one can finish the game with both players. Tell me if I went overboard, and made it too easy... Or if I accidentally created a bug or something. I'm thinking about making another update with a "hard mode" or an extra level that will unlock if you've completed the game with both pilots. I had to skip out on an enemy or two in the China stage and I made an "enemy editor" for the bosses built of squares, so I can easilly create some more things. Not sure if I have the time, though... |

HARD MODE!? pwhariASDFwarisaDDSFwataraQ($*()$*R(QWE(KIFCFDS
HARD MODE!? ...that's cool, I guess. O_o;; EDIT: Now that I've gotten my brain cells back together again, this'll probably give the game infinite playtime for casual players. If you have the time, that'll be great, especially for some of your more passionate fans. EDIT: Well, at least my teammate'll like to play it with the new updates, especially with the extra post-end-game bosses. This post has been edited by Joewoof: Feb 27 2007, 02:18 PM |

Dangit Joe. You're always having issues when it comes to difficulty, don't you? =P
QUOTE Yes, you get a small reward for completing all the levels in a row. Maybe not a sufficient reward for all your hard effort, but some new music and graphics Music and graphics. More than enough for me. I'll do it. And with the attractor too. Hardcore all e way. |

QUOTE Dangit Joe. You're always having issues when it comes to difficulty, don't you? =P Oh shush. QUOTE And with the attractor too. Hardcore all e way. Oh, you mean the latest updated version? ...right? EDIT: Alright, I tried the latest version. I see that you simply made the squid slower and weaker. Surprisingly, I have a completely new tactic to use against it, which is pretty cool. Anyway, after spending a full hour trying to defeat the boss, I can safely say now that China is beatable with Attractor. However, it is still extremely difficult, and rightfully so. It is definitely still much, much harder than fighting it with Reflector, which is good. I haven't beaten it though, but after abandoning all hope of complete success in Clean Asia for a while, I feel a new, rejuvenated urge to try again, since the ultimate goal is finally in sight. Oh yeah, having to Dash through streams of bullets every few seconds is giving me a heart attack! Very exciting. This post has been edited by Joewoof: Feb 27 2007, 06:15 PM |

Hey everyone, thanks for all the *very kind* comments on my music
Originally when Cactus approached me and asked if he could use my music for the game, I became curious as hell. From the comments I've recieved over the years regarding my music, I've come to understand that what I create is often regarded as experimental or just "not music", but everyone has their cup of tea As for me, I'm crap when it comes to SEU games, so this game is incredibly hard for me, but at times.. I fire it up and get my ass handed to me hehe But, I do love the overall feel of the game, it's dark, it's dense and it's insane Oh yeah, and Skaterboy991, as somebody else already pointed out, the song "d0n't taunt me" does have only vocal samples from Q3 arena, however I'm honored that you actually thought it was a remixed version of an official soundtrack by Sonic Mayhem As for the people wanting more music, there's two avenues that you can get your fix from: 1) the modarchive (newly revamped !) artists page: http://modarchive.org/panel-profile.php?ac...n=view&id=69277 2) and of course, the CTG page link displayed in the game: http://www.ctgmusic.com/john%20marwin (%20 is a URL spacebar code) And, if you're desperate for whatever pointless things happen in my life, I've got a sort of a blog online at http://www.johnmarwin.co.nr .. but it's VERY rarely updated since I'm living a rather insane life atm. There's more music on the way, however as I'm learning how to use a new application (sort of a revamp of my old app) called renoise, it'll be a while before I'll be able to get something good sounding stuff from it. So, again thanks to everyone for their comments, it's the biggest amount of positive feedback i've gotten so far in my life *bows and exits the stage to the right* |

Great job, Marwin. You've got a fan here.
And oh, Cact. Has anyone commented on how unique a combination of being blindfolded + bunny ears + carrot + pistol is? Playgirl material. Fersure. This post has been edited by Pondwater: Feb 28 2007, 02:11 PM |

QUOTE Great job, Marwin. You've got a fan here. Yeah, add another to that list. I downloaded a bunch of your stuff once I finished playing. Hard mode would be cool. I'm positive I can beat it now, I just need to make fewer stupid mistakes and be more patient. And once I'm there, it'd be nice to know there's something else to shoot for. |

This game is a truly amazing blend of style and gameplay. The first ship is awesome; I don't think I've ever played a shooter with that kind of ability, and it's really fun. The second ship is good as well (did you add that ship just in case people didn't like the first? Just wondering...).
Clean Asia! is really tough though, although that may just be because I'm really bad at these types of games. Kudos to you though, and I hope you continue to develop great and original games! |

I've been digging around in the mod archive for a while and didn't recognize you yet Marwin.
Man I love your tunes you're one of my favourite composers now. Damn it's so tempting to use some of them in a project I'm making now since they carry exactly the kind of mood and pace I'm going for... Anyways you've got another fan. That's just what I wanted to say. |

Great game
The background was a bit distracting sometimes, and the difficulty is pretty high. As for the rest: great music, fine gameplay, awesome effects, nice graphics, etc. Recognised the vocals in the music too, cuz I sometimes still play Quake III Arena. And you made it to the The Staff's Choice you lucky b*stard! EDIT: btw, when you try to play the exe directly from the zip, the intro gives an error saying it can't call an external function. @9_6
You are quite welcome to use any songs of mine in any game you're developing Also, do bear in mind that I've got a few other songs which haven't been released online on the basis that I personally thought they sucked donkey balls, drop me your m sn mail (if applicable) over at my official email john dot marwin at gmail dot com and I'll show you some of my other stuff that's not online. @Joerdgs I think the reason that it doesn't work when launched from a packaged file is that you're only extracting the EXE file only and not the accompanying libraries, and since the game isn't written to take advantage of that, it can't find it's instruction set and therefore fails to properly load. (but I guess cactus knows more about that than me haha) |

Thanks for the positive comments everyone! I'm really excited to have gotten CA! placed in the Staff's Choice forum
QUOTE (phantom king @ Mar 4 2007, 06:23 AM) I made the graphics and programmed the game, but John Marwin made the music and Smarty made the dll I used to play it Any particular reason why you ask? QUOTE (Joerdgs @ Mar 5 2007, 12:06 PM) EDIT: btw, when you try to play the exe directly from the zip, the intro gives an error saying it can't call an external function. John Marwin pretty much answered that. It's about the dll's not being extracted correctly while running the executable unless you first extract the game (to a folder) from the zip-file. |

I don't know if this is big or not, but Clean Asia mentioned next to Warning Forever and Cave Story is probably a good thing.
