Twinsen
Graphics: .TakaM
Coding: Cocopuffs

Intro:
This is a game .TakaM and I started working on a couple years ago. It was going kind of slow and suffered a lot of problems to do poor planning and constant changing of ideas. So Twinsen has now been discontinued. We will be working a new project though, and it should go a lot smoother.

Also, you may notice several things missing or a few minor bugs in this demo. We are just releasing this because we will no longer be working on it, and are fully aware of the technical flaws.

About the game:
This has gone through so many changes it doesn't have any story or point. Just go to the right. Twinsen is a Little Big Adventure fan game, but other than the main character being Twinsen and the magic ball, there's no real similarities in this version.
NOTE: If It lags on your computer, try turning the shadow off in the options menu.

Of course, with shiny pixel graphics, if you *don't* change resolution you'll run into problems with fullscreening because everything will go all uglyfuzzy. On the other hand, with GM6's lack of clean resolution change, manually shifting to 320x240 would be a big nono. Have you looked at the resolution change dll someone made to try and get around the GM problem?

(I say this while downloading, I haven't seen what the results are yet, I'm just commenting based on the screenshots.)

Hmm I coulda sworn that I left a reply on this :D

But anyways, amazing game!

It's very fresh and I love the art style, very professional. I really hope to see you finish this.

There is yet one problem I have with it...

Jumping

I really don't like the jumping ;) I guess I got used to it after a while, but that first killer jump in the level took atleast 8 tries for me to accomplish...

But great job, keep it up! :P

Really nice, great graphix and good controlls, jumping was good but not when you fall of a cliff. Like, you still move forward and i died many time because of that :/
Im a big fan of twinsen though, twinsens odessy rawked... and i think this will to, if you keep working :)

Thanks, my partner got a little whiney about the fuzziness, I have no problem with it, but then again I'm no pixel artist. I will look into it.

The jumpings going to stay relaticely the same, you get used to it ater awhile. We might change the awlking of the cliff momentum thing though.

Yeah, I'm hoping to change the cliff thing but Taka might get all whiney about it.

Anyways, To let you know I'll be in Arizona (away from computer) for the next week, so I won't be here ot reply to the other 2 or 3 posts I get :/. But I'll be back and will reply then.

See ya,

Wow I was a huge fan of Little Big Adventure when I was little. This game looks like it will be superb when it's finished too. Really impressive menus, animation, movement and everything. I'll heve to keep a lookout for this. And what are you mean fuzziness? The anti-aliasing? It looks great!

Actually you can use viewports in the room options to scale the screen without having the blurry crap. It's what I use in all my 320x240 (scaled up to 640x480) games as I can't tolerate the blur. It'll still look odd scaled up to most people's regular desktop resolutions (due to ratio differences in the size of the enlarged pixels) but it will help for those machines which can't use 320x240 too.

Wow cool, graphics are amazing, and gameplay is good, it was just like you where playing a good Gameboy Advance Game.

But at one point when I walked of a clif I always fell in the water, that should be fixed.

The jumping feels too real, and the controls are awkard. Other than that, it's awesome. Excellent graphics, solid gameplay, very very polished. A lot of people around here (myself included) could learn a thing or two about polishing our games to that level. Give us more platformery physics and custom controls options and you'll have yourself a winner!

This is truly wonderful! This could turn out to be a match for Easter Avenger, HT3D and Ark22. Very nice and polished! The only glitch I could find, was that somewhere I walked off a cliff to reach a lower cliff, but I couldn't stop, so I fell into the water. As for the graphics, .TakaM did a very good job! I'm sure to remember .TakaM from somewhere, but I can't remember from where.

I really like it.

Graphics is really awesome - this Takam guy is really talended pixel artist it seems.
The gameplay is smooth although I guess that Twinsen could move a little bit faster. Also, maybe player should have a little bit more control on him. Like now he seems to be heavy as a stone.

And I like the story and the way you've presented it. It's like Little Big Adventure mixed with Truman Show. Nice.
