![]() Well, here is my latest work in progress...Ac!dbomb. The demo includes a tutorial and three bombs to diffuse. Check it out! NOTE: demo unavailable, full game released! Check it out here: http://forums.gamemaker.nl/index.php?showtopic=237867 What is Ac!dbomb? A fusion of both the style of Metal Gear Ac!d 2 and some mechanics from Smartbomb, Ac!dbomb puts you in the VR suit to try and disarm bombs through a unique visual mechanic. You have the time ticking down before it blows, so find those triggers quickly! This is a puzzle game that will really challenge you later on in the final game. Very cool game! The graphics were average, but the gameplay... WOAH MAN! I loved it! This is probably gonna be an instant Chubbigans classic, like Ore No Ryomi 2.
GRAPHICS: nothing spectacular 5/10 SOUND: don't have speakers on my comp... null/10 GAMEPLAY: Super addictive 10/10 GLITCHYNESS: none glitches 10/10 STYLE: I liked it, but somhow, it doesn't seem very original 6/10 OVERALL: 31/50 |

Dang Chubigans, that is one good game. Your best since Ore No Ryomi 2.
I was going to give the game ratings, but then I realized, even though the maybe the graphics and sound aren't the best, they fit the game so well that I would have to give them a 10. And random fuse things every time, talk about infinite replay value. [Edit] Hahaha! I just felt like a bomb defuser from one of those movies: there I was, four squares left... There were 2 triggers left... I was trying to figure out the last spaces when I noticed that there were nine seconds left... So I panicked, but I couldn't figure it out! Then I looked at the time... 5... 4... I placed both !... 3... Then I realized that that couldn't be it, so I switched one out... 2... 1... CONGRATULATIONS! BOMB DEFUSED! [Edit] Seriously, if this game came out for the ds or something, I'd buy it. This post has been edited by rbelmont000: Jul 12 2006, 02:16 AM |

Awesome, glad you guys like it! I deliberately kept the graphics real simple...in fact, Im going the complete opposite of Vivid Conceptions (my last game) as much as possible.

really cool, only thing is that it's a bit difficult, the tutorial was excellent and the gameplay was very smooth and ingenious... well done!

This is a good game. I'm looking forward to it's final release. It reminds me of Smart Bomb for the PSP.... although that sucked! But this does not. Good work.

I know that it's supposed to be like Smart Bomb, but there's something about this game that's different. Now I remember what it was, it was the insane difficulty and long loading times for a bad looking cinematic that was only 3 seconds long!

QUOTE (xXHalfieXx @ Jul 12 2006, 01:54 AM) I know that it's supposed to be like Smart Bomb, but there's something about this game that's different. Now I remember what it was, it was the insane difficulty and long loading times for a bad looking cinematic that was only 3 seconds long! Yeah, I had Smartbomb for the PSP...and it was just wasted potential. There was one minigame in that whole game that was more fun then anything else, and I expanded on that to make Ac!dbomb. |

Sweet game. I loved the music. It was my favourite part. XD Difficult I must say... Reminds me of minesweeper.
Keep up the good work. |

I wrote out a review earlier, but unfortunately I must not have pressed 'Add Reply' hard enough as it didn't appear.
Anyway, I really really like this game. First of all everything about it is so professional, from the menu to the level select to the actual game, the layout is always pleasing to the eyes. The game itself is excellent, I really enjoyed it from start to finish. The tutorial was very helpful, and very well done. It did take me a few tries to figure out that I put the Xes on the unarmed blocks and the ticks on the armed ones, but once I got it it was great fun. It definitely reminded me of minesweeper for obvious reasons, but unlike minesweeper I think I could really enjoy this game. The three levels so far were pretty easy, though, even the hard one. It must be really hard to design levels for this game! The music worked fine for me, and was quite nice. The best part of the game, in my opinion, is the tense 10 seconds of anticipation as the screen shakes and wobbles, the beeping gets louder and you hope that you've done it right, and then when it's defused you feel great. The way you've done that part is really great, much better than a simple 'correct' or 'try again' screen, it adds suspense. I really liked the way you did that. The graphics were simple, but definitely functional and nice to look at. The visual effects, like the screen shaking and the moving background things were very nice. The static blocks were really annoying because it was pretty much luck that you choose a static block, not anything to do with skill. It also annoyed me that after selecting it it was not marked as I had a sort of passive compulsive need to mark every block. The controls were good. Nice and functional. Easy to pick up. I can't really think of much to improve on, it's coming along so well. More levels, and some stages with much more difficulty would be nice. The 'very hard' level in this demo was easy enough to get the second time (after clicking the static block about 10 times the first try I can see myself actually playing this game right through when it is released, because although I am generally not a fan of puzzle games, this one really appealed to me. I hope you continue it. |

Wow radnom Games, thanks for that detailed reply! Im glad you are all enjoying the demo.
I think what Ill end up doing is make the virus tile temporary...that is, hit it once and it will turn back into a dud, letting you mark it. Im gonna have to fine tune that a bit. |
