Starships; Boats; Missiles; Buildings. In the world of virtual gaming, they all blow up! And now Explogen V2.0 is here to help you do it…
All game makers can now create original explosions for a variety of game styles and types, including top-down and platform. The flexibility of the program and multiple options available to the creator make the explosions fit the game's style, instead of the unfortunate, yet often seen, vice versa. Multiple styles, types, colors are available; any kind is possible! No two will ever be exactly alike...

With Explogen V.2, the only limit is your creativity.

Very impressive, it's very professionally made. Are you in anyway affiliated with the first Explogen? And what do you want if I want to use this in my game?

phil: Thanks! I thought of doing that but this way alows for any animation program to open the images at full quality. So I decided to keep them as bmp.

ZDM: Your welcome. I hope it comes in handy.

nickaroocrew: I have thought of an effects generator. I may make it someday. Then I would bundle the explosion generator and the effects gen into one.

NOT Games: Thanks! Yes, I made the first Explogen too. You don't have to put anything, but if you feel like putting something and I would really appricate it. Just put either Elmernite or http://www.kenginegaming.com.

Thanks!

I added a list of quotes that come from the first Explogen.

I'd like to be able to modify:
-Size of particles
-Shape of particles (if possible)
-Random speed variance
-Gravity to be applied to particles

Also, your maxes in some areas feel kind of limiting. Make the maximum speeds like 30
Also make a way to quickly modify values.
Some more explosions types would be good too.

So, Great program, but by adding more things you could make it even more useful, usable in many more people's games.

Maybe you could even make it so the player can load his own sprite for the explosion particle?? That'd be a good feature. (and then have the option to use the actual colours of it or draw it colourized).

Hi. Very good program u got there. I rank it 8.5/10. A couple of suggestions for improvement though

1. Ability to chage the colour of the particles
2. Save as strip or gif rather that seperate bmps. this will enable the generated explotions to be imported into game maker faster.
3. Maybe add the ability for user imported particles, eg. shrapnal

Is there any way to import all the bmps at once into a gif creator? If not, i think you should export as gif...

GIF's are low quality, and it depends on what animation program you are using, if it is game maker, than no, if it is somthing link Jasc's Animation Studio, then I think that you can use click+shift on file load. I edit when d-load is finished.

EDIT: Good Program, Good Job

EDIT2:

I'd like to be able to modify:
-Size of particles
-Shape of particles (if possible)
-Random speed variance
-Gravity to be applied to particles

It would be hard to modify the size of the particles, but I bet it could be done.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

why? a strip is much better, and with some settings u can load them nicely into your game.

gif only has 256 colours so it wont look so nice then.

Sorry about the long time with no replies. I've been away though and I'm back now. So post away!

THE KAPPTIN: Those were all really good suggestions. I'll need to keep them in mind.

sir raskasar: Thanks!

JSoft Entertainment: Thanks for the suggestion. But I like to import them as bmp for a number of reasons.

gamenerd: Thanks!

coolsmile: Thanks! Now you can replace the old one.

phil: It's like lukesterspy said.

lukesterspy: Thanks!

sir raskasar: Thats one of the reasons I won't do gif.

GlasS PEngUin: Thanks1

Thanks for all of your replies. I hope you continue to find the program usefull.

You should say whether it's registered to use the explosion or not, because I can't find any explosion generator thing that I could just export it as a stirp, so I can't get any good explosions.

to use it with alpha you need this code in a game start event from any object in the first room:
sprite_set_alpha_from_sprite(sprExplosion,sprExplo
sion)

EDIT: you need to have a black background on your explosion sprite
