As a promising dare-devil, you must take to the air and judge power, angle
and wind speed/direction, in order to complete an elaborate array of stunts.
Of course each stunt you complete earns you points, but heres the twist, you
can also earn 'splatter points'. So if you miss your target, do it with style!
The more spectacular, the more points!

Features

> Three main modes of play!

Arcade - Classic highscore fun, get three attempts at each of the 15 stages to
rack up as many points as possible.
Single - Select a stage from arcade mode either to practice, or to submit a single
stage highscore, or go for the splatter toplist.
Career - Splatter points mean nothing in this mode, only when you've completed one
stage can you move onto the next. Complete every stage in as few attempts
as possible to receive your human cannonball ranking and see if this is
really the career for you!

> Extras!

Training - See HC's trajectory plotted out for you while you practice planning shots!

Freestyle Arena - A huge area packed with stunts for you to use as your very own
dare-devil playground!

Finally got to give it a proper go. Am loving it. Just unlocked the first secret and completed it for the prize which is nicely done too.

Great stuff.

Hey neverest,

Although I enjoy this game as much as I did the first, I find it a bit lacking as a sequel (assuming a sequel was your purpose). It feels more, to me, like "the first game with some better graphics, a few more effects, and an online high score table added".

I have only looked at the levels, I have not played through them in sequence to unlock the extras, so there may be a few things I am missing, just to let you know.

The first game was created in the traditional style. You could have kept the levels that you created as is (putting them in one area) and then greatly improved upon the versatility of the game by adding a number of non-traditional abilities not found in the first and use these to create an entirely different set of levels. For instance: speed changing blocks (hit them and you get a speed boost or drop depending on the block), direction switcher (get caught in a suspended swing arm and it spins around tossing you in the opposing direction), human splitter (hit a block and it splits your character into three or more, each leaving the location at slightly different trajectories to perform stunts independently of each other boosting your score), bail-out (you press a button and a parachute is deployed, stopping your run and dropping you safely to the ground), ejector mats (hit them and like the trampoline mats, but instead of bouncing, they "eject" you [you've seen movies or cartoons with a spring-loaded ejector seat, right?] giving you a speed boost only if it ejects straight up, or a boost and direction change by ejecting you to the left or right), flight control (press a button and your arms spread out giving you a little more control over your flight... you could, for instance, dip slightly faster to increase speed and possibly hit targets you would have overshot), level creation (even if you couldn't save/export them, being able to design your own in-game missions and attempt them would have been fun), and so on.

A few other tweaks could have also been done to the current game itself (not changing it) such a fire hoops and destruction of small signs if you hit them.

By no means am I insulting this game. It is a great and entertaining work. It is simply lacking from what I was expecting to see in a new release following the previous that I enjoyed so much.

The moment i saw this topic show up on the index, i thought "No... It can't be... it says that S-Chuck is the last poster, maybe he's closing a fake".

I was wrong. I will be EXTREMELY disappointed if this does not enter a Cage Match.

Thanks for the comments.
I never considered this a sequel, more a remake, or perhaps lets say an expansion because lets face it the original was just a minigame. Despite some of my favourite games being minigames, I wanted to expand this game into something fuller.

Thanks for your in depth reply S-Chuck,
If you havnt played through then you may not have realised that with career mode not only comes a different way of playing, but also another 20 stages on top of the arcade ones. I don't know if that means you've really missed much though.
I see your point, I'm sorry I took it down a different path than you were expecting, however non-traditional abilities is something I intently steered away from because I just saw it as a different game.
Ok of course the physics are greatly exagerated, and HC is somewhat more resiliant than a real human, but fundamentally I tried to keep some realism in this cartoon world, and where it would have been easy to have wacky effects or things just floating in the sky, I've tried to give everything a purpose, and a plausible environment.

Having said that, I do at some stage intend to add a level editor/custom editor which I think will be more up your street!

Thanks again

This game is fun!!! It has alot of replay value. I couldn't stop playing! I just kept shooting the guy into buildings for 20 minutes. Awsome graphics too!

edit: Does it mean anything if I have the second highest splatter score? lol

You may or may not be aware, but Humain Cannonball is among my favourite games, GM or otherwise (though I mainly GM made ones). I didn't expect to see a new "version"; the surprize is very pleasant. This new version is simply more deeper.

So far I've enjoyed the game a lot, but the one thing I miss from the minigame is the flowing speed. The speed meter was much faster (I eventually got used to the new one, although I think it could be a bit faster). Adding to that, the room transition takes away a lot on the gameplay in my opinion: I think I would have prefered a slightly less mellow approach on that part. I will probably get used to it, I played HC on its first version so much that this remake plays against my habits.

I will be keeping the first one, because even two years later, I still find myself playing the game with friends from time to time, one after the other. Admittedly, a multiplayer mode would give Super Human Cannonball a bloody good kick!

I don't know what S-Chuck is smoking this game is great. Very clean, well made. I like it. I still need to try out all the different modes though.

What I don't like : The splatter effect is too.... neat. It should be more like gore and have a bit more irregularity in it. Every time I splat it creates this perfect roundy blood cloud. Just nit-picking here...

Thanks for the game.

Thanks for the comments, glad you're enjoying it.

Quimp, Yes I understand, It even took me a bit of getting used to as I was so familiar with the first, but the power speed was the single biggest complaint about the first version, and I decided go with user opinion. In retrospect I'm glad I did, as it still requires skill, but hopefully lets users better predict their shot.
Tylak, despite the nature of the game, I'm not a fan of gore, so I just decided to keep everything within a cartoony looking style.

Many Thanks

neverest, fair enough. At least if you do think about creating a wild sequel, you will already have some ideas of what you can add :)

Tylak, I was not criticizing the game, calling it a bad game.... I really enjoy it.

My points were being made based on the fact there was a similar release made over one year ago (topic here), and as it is not common for members to recreate and release generally the same game after such a long time, I thought this was a sequel with few large improvements from it's predecessor... which is why I made the comments that I did.

Gotta say I'm finding this one a lot more addictive than the first. Just submitted my first career mode score. That mode's sorta like golf. Did really well on some levels and did massively bad on some others that put the total score way up (which is this mode is bad...)

Anyways this ranks among my favorite GM games.

I agree, it's comic violence. I meant that I didn't like the physics of the gore, the sprites are fine. :) Either way, good game and I will play it some more when my work day is finished.

Cheers.

Very nice game neverest. I especially like the arcade mode.

I do have one question. What happened to that cool emote maker you made? Could you send me the link to it via pm?
