Nice site. Good content.
Although the images (the template images, not the creations) bg's are a bit off-colour, and the image is a bit rough around the edges, unless you wanted that. |

Yeah, someone told me about the images. My monitor is really dark, so they looked fine until I saw them on a good screen. I'll have to fix that...
Edit: Ok, I messed with the pictures, but I'm not sure they're right. Are they still kinda choppy? This post has been edited by Bub: Jan 31 2006, 09:14 PM |

By 'the template is poor', do you mean that the images are bad or that the layout needs work?
I realize the images need work, and I'm open to suggestions on how to lay out the content. |

The template quality is bad...and the image are not awesome. I mean, a cutted circle, for a layout...is not a great idea dude.
Try doing something better, like a banner on top, and content boxes down the banner. |

Thanks for the input, LaRiN.
Yeah, the 'cutted circles' are supposed to hint at the sun, but I guess the effect didn't work out... |

I appreciate the banners, LaRiN, but I'd prefer to have my own stuff on my site (no matter how bad it is). They look pretty sweet, though.

QUOTE (·•LaRiN•· @ Jan 31 2006, 04:29 PM) The template quality is bad...and the image are not awesome. I mean, a cutted circle, for a layout...is not a great idea dude. Try doing something better, like a banner on top, and content boxes down the banner. It seems that the banner-with-boxes design is the current "fad" here at the GMC. Something different is good. (not that I can talk, seeing as how my site fits that category). When your images are improved, then you'll have a nice site, Bub. I like your content (the penguin "game" is highly amusing |

The layout could use some work, especially the graphics, but it's good you made it yourself, it definately beats some of the sites around here.

Alright, so I totally changed the layout, so check it out. It's just the simple banner-on-top-with-a-horizontal-nav-bar-underneath design.
What do you think? Better? |

It's actually not centered, Robobot. I just have the whole thing positioned 10% from the left, so at 1024x768 res it looks centered. I'll try to get it centered, Osprey.
Ok, now it's centered. This post has been edited by Bub: Feb 2 2006, 10:17 PM |

Personally, the colour scheme isn't too good. I think it shouldn't just be the heading, navigation bar, then content... but have some bars on either side too. Very nice site though; Content isn't too bad although those images were a little... lame?

heh heh. Yeah the images are kinda juvenile. It's what I do when I get bored, and I only use MS Paint, so they're pretty 'meh'.
I wanted to go with a simple layout since I have such simple content, so I really don't think I need sidebars. Thanks for postin', Rhys. |
